Tom K. for Model Number pyet244ayw When you try to dry clothes, set the timer, push the knob, the motor does not run. However the heating elements are coming on. Timer on this dryer was replaced about a year ago. Motor does not appeared burnt - overload on motor is not open - What would cause the heating elements to come on but not the motor?
Answer Hello Tom. You will need to check and see if there is power going to the motor. If so, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor W10410996. If there is no power there, then the timer may be the issue. Also test and make sure your not loosing neutral somewhere inside the dryer. You will do this by testing for continuity through the neutral wires. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
