Coach for Model Number PYE2300AYW Replaced the thermostat and thermo-fuse; worked again, but heating coils remain on after opening door. Drum did stop. The coils turn off if I set the timer to off. Checked for grounded coils with a multimeter, reads infinity, so not grounded. Wondering if it's the timer, with a malfunctioning relay; wondering how to check the different circuits accurately before replacing the timer.
Answer Coach, With the heater staying on when the timer is in the on position but the unit shut off would be a stuck centrifugal switch on the motor. This will require the motor to be replaced. Since the coils go off when the timer is in the off position then it would not be the timer that is the issue. The motor part number is W10410996. Read More...
