Andrew S for Model Number GEW9878PW1 I have a replacement heating element (3401338). It has 3 wire connections- two are 3/16ths and the third is 1/4. These connections match-up to the wires off the bundle. However there are no wires for a high limit thermostat, which from the drawings seems to work with a heating element with two,not three, connections. Do I even need the thermostat?
Answer Hello Andrew. Yes, you need the thermostat WP3404153. It has a welded leg that connects to one side of the element. This takes the place for the forth connection. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, March 31, 2011
