Larry November 05, 2015 for Model Number KEYS855JE0 I have no heat on cotton and low heat on Delicate. Is it my heating element or thermostat?
1 Answer Hello Larry, This is more likely the internal bias thermostat WP3387134, temperature switch 3406244 or the timer WP3976570. Read More...
Joseph October 29, 2013 for Model Number MHZ2005620 Hello, My friend has this dryer and the hot air stopped so when she called me I told her most likely its a bad Element but you need to check it first. I don't think she checked it but instead bought a new one and had her brother help her put it on. She called me and said it worked for a little while(one load I think) then it stopped working again.(no hot air) Doesn't the thermostat cycling switch work with the element? so if one goes bad can the other? I know if I was closer I would be there testing both?? thank you..
1 Answer Joseph, Yes the cycling thermostat does work in conjunction with the heater element. It is possible for both the element and thermostat to fail, but rare. It's more likely the thermal fuse on the heater has failed due to a heating situation, or possible damaged element or wire when they were replacing the part. Read More...
Salvador July 22, 2013 for Model Number KEYS850LQ0 I replace the heather element. but whe I turn the clock the element start right away before I push the button to star the drying cycle. what can be wrong. when I stop the machine the heater continues working it doesn't stop. I need help .
1 Answer Salvador, You will need to re check the element and the wires to the element and make sure they are not shorted or pinched to the cabinet/chassis ground. If the wires are OK, you'll need to replace the motor 279827, the centrifugal switch would be stuck "closed" and allowing voltage to pas to the element, even in the "OFF" mode. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Cyman. This is a closed circuit. As long as the red wires are connected to the element, it is fine. The terminals on the wires are a differnt size for the element. Read More...
Andrew March 31, 2011 for Model Number GEW9878Pw1 You reccomend part # AP2976290 as the proper thermostat for a heating unit with 3 wire connections. I can't locate the part on your web site , or that of anyone else. Help. Thank you.
1 Answer Andrew, You do have the correct part number WP3404153 for the: 180dgr. cycling, hi limit thermostat with 3 receptacles, that mounts on the heater assembly of your dryer. If you click on the part number I've attached, the system will load the part diagram on the AppliancePartsPros.com home page. I'm sure you'll be fine from there, Good Luck. Read More...
Andrew S March 31, 2011 for Model Number GEW9878PW1 I have a replacement heating element (3401338). It has 3 wire connections- two are 3/16ths and the third is 1/4. These connections match-up to the wires off the bundle. However there are no wires for a high limit thermostat, which from the drawings seems to work with a heating element with two,not three, connections. Do I even need the thermostat?
1 Answer Hello Andrew. Yes, you need the thermostat WP3404153. It has a welded leg that connects to one side of the element. This takes the place for the forth connection. Hope this helps. Read More...
