Sometimes these guides can break, become weak, or be covered in residue and need to be replaced.If there are issues with the push rod guide, remove the spark plug before removing the air cleaner assembly, oil fill tube, fuel tank, and blower housing. Any other parts in the way like muffler guards, rewind starters, and carburetors should also be removed. Take the screws off the valve cover and remove them before pressing the spring retainer and spring over a valve.
