After seeing the repair video about replacing the spring and hinge cable, I checked, and my problem was that both hinge cables were broken. I then ordered two springs and a pair of hinge cables from appliancepartpros.com (since it was their video that convinced me how easy it would be to do. When the parts arrived later that week, I did the repair (took about 10 minutes) and now the door is better than it has been in over a year (looking back, I clearly had one broken for a long time before the other one broke--in the future, I'll do this repair earlier). Micah P Sanford , ME April 06, 2019 Appliance: Bosch Dishwasher SHX4ATF5UC/12 Dishwasher door wouldn't stay up The hinge cable became disconnected, and was worn and frayed. So, I replaced them both anyways. Hinge cable comes as a set of two. I ordered two because I wasn't sure. Now I have a spare, just in case in happens again. It only took 10 minutes to fix. Pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet, removed the old hinge cable with pliers and replaced with new ones.
