After seeing the repair video about replacing the spring and hinge cable, I checked, and my problem was that both hinge cables were broken. I then ordered two springs and a pair of hinge cables from appliancepartpros.com (since it was their video that convinced me how easy it would be to do. When the parts arrived later that week, I did the repair (took about 10 minutes) and now the door is better than it has been in over a year (looking back, I clearly had one broken for a long time before the other one broke--in the future, I'll do this repair earlier). She was very helpful in picking out the right cables. When I went to install them, I realized one of the door springs was missing as well. Although the spring I found was not exactly like the one on my dishwasher, after watching the video, I bought it and found it fit differently and works fine. I went back to order a second door spring and Appliance parts came back the same day to ensure I was not placing a duplicate order. Can't say enough about the customer service! Videos are awesome. Dennis H Mission Viejo , CA November 10, 2019 Thermador dishwasher door would fall when opened unless it was held to prevent from dropping I went online to diagnose what might be wrong. Next, I went to the Appliance Parts Pros website and watched a how-to video on changing out the door hinge cable and spring. (Excellent video gave me the confidence that it was potentially an easy repair) I ordered the parts, (spring and hinge cable) When the parts arrived (within 2 days) I installed them following the video. My repair was even easier than the video indicated as I only had to unplug my power for safety and didn't have to disconnect the water or drain lines as I only had to pull out the dishwasher about 18" to access the door hinge cable and spring. Took me about 15 minutes to pull out the dishwasher, remove the old parts, install the new parts and reset and level the dishwasher in place with the leveling feet and counter screws. Read More...
