Lisa B The Woodlands , TX December 28, 2018 Appliance: Model PRG486GDH THERMADOR PRO-HARMONY Thermador Pro Harmony gas range small oven was not heating I replaced the igniter with a Frigidaire(Electrolux) part. The small oven on my Thermador Pro-Harmony Gas Range stopped heating (on Thanksgiving Day of course). I looked on the internet and I saw a video indicating it may be the igniter. I ordered both the Bosch igniter (00415504) and the Frigidaire (5303935066). Bosch and Thermador are the same company. The Bosch igniter looked like the existing Thermador except the connecting wires were too short. Therefore I used the Frigidaire/Electrolux igniter and it worked perfectly. The Frigidaire igniter was only $39.60 compared to the Bosch at $107.84. The worn old Thermador igniter had some nice insulation around the long wires and I simply moved the insulation off the old wires and put it over the new Frigidaire/Electrolux igniter. Works like a dream. I noticed the large oven is slow starting so I ordered an additional Frigidaire igniter for that one. The oven is 7 years old and this igniters last about 8 years. I am so thankful to have AppiancePartsPros. I have saved money making repairs myself over several years , thanks to this online parts provider. The customer service has always been excellent. Seaborn H Conroe , TX November 20, 2016 Appliance: Thermador Gas Range PRG366US Oven failed to light broiler also didn't light for a year before oven failed burner ignitor loose Replaced both ignitors. Since I was working on the range I also overhauled the final 2 of the 6 burners on the stove top. Venturi tube and jet nuts were frozen and could not remove drip tray for cleaning and access to ignitor clip. Had to drill out Venturi tubes using a tapered bore bit. Used Dremmel with cutting wheel to remove jet nut. This range has been heavily used since new for 16 years. Works like new, again. David K Newton Centre , MA June 05, 2015 Appliance: Thermador PRG304US Oven flame was making a waffling/fluttering sound because the igniter wasn't getting hot enough I removed the oven door http://fixitnow.com/wp/2009/11/30/removing-and-re-installing-the-oven-door-on-a-thermador-prg304us-range/ (this was the hardest part of the job because one hinge latch was jammed in position - I used a large screwdriver and a lot of force to free it ), lower front panel, oven racks and bottom pan of oven. The actual igniter replacement was a snap. Two screws hold the igniter in place and the wires have quick disconnects (I used two pairs of pliers to grab the connectors to disconnect them, without pulling on the wires) to attach them to the controller. Easy! Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Tara R Friendswood , TX November 25, 2016 Appliance: Thermador PRG304US Gas making a baffling sound when turning oven on Replaced the oven igniter. This is the second time it has been replaced. The first time was 4 years ago. I've had this oven for approx. 10 years. It was a fairly easy repair to do and saved us hundreds of dollars by not having to have a service guy come out. The oven would not heat up but you could hear the gas making a baffling sound. The broiler worked so we only replaced the oven igniter. Works like a champ again!
