How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP2832933 / 00415504 Oven Burner Igniter

Replaced both ignitors. Since I was working on the range I also overhauled the final 2 of the 6 burners on the stove top. Venturi tube and jet nuts were frozen and could not remove drip tray for cleaning and access to ignitor clip. Had to drill out Venturi tubes using a tapered bore bit. Used Dremmel with cutting wheel to remove jet nut. This range has been heavily used since new for 16 years. Works like new, again. 

I removed the oven door http://fixitnow.com/wp/2009/11/30/removing-and-re-installing-the-oven-door-on-a-thermador-prg304us-range/ (this was the hardest part of the job because one hinge latch was jammed in position - I used a large screwdriver and a lot of force to free it ), lower front panel, oven racks and bottom pan of oven. The actual igniter replacement was a snap. Two screws hold the igniter in place and the wires have quick disconnects (I used two pairs of pliers to grab the connectors to disconnect them, without pulling on the wires) to attach them to the controller. Easy! 

Replaced the oven ignitor 

Replaced the oven igniter. This is the second time it has been replaced. The first time was 4 years ago. I've had this oven for approx. 10 years. It was a fairly easy repair to do and saved us hundreds of dollars by not having to have a service guy come out. The oven would not heat up but you could hear the gas making a baffling sound. The broiler worked so we only replaced the oven igniter. Works like a champ again! 

Replaced igniter. Only problem was a stuck screw on the old igniter, which WD40 took care of.

Initially replaced dual safety valve because igniter impedance tested ok and it was glowing, but only glowing red/orange. Wouldn't light at all after replacing safety valve, so I replaced igniter and now it works great. 

,Removed racks, removed bottom oven panel to expose igniter, removed lower face panel to expose wire connections, disconnected wire nuts, from inside oven unscrewed igniter and remove. Installed new igniter and replaced other parts.Be vary careful in handling the igniter they break easily. Oven now lights in 60 sec.and heats 400 digress in 10 min.Wife is vary happy!
