The carburetor is responsible for mixing the air and gas before passing the mixture along to the engine to provide power and speed. The intake allows air to come into the carburetor, where it is mixed with fuel in the smallest part of the tube. The fuel is injected through a series of small holes along the inner tube. Then, the mixture is passed along through a valve that can be adjusted for more or less flow, and onward into the engine. If the valve is fully open, the engine will essentially be getting maximum power. If the engine is not throttling correctly or isn’t running at all, the carburetor could be faulty. This part is made to exact standards and complies with all EPA regulations. It is made from high-quality materials and designed to withstand high engine temperatures for multiple years of use. Be sure to allow the engine to cool completely and to wear gloves when replacing this part for hand protection. This OEM replacement carburetor fits most Briggs & Stratton 124000 engines, but check your user manual for exact compatibility and fit. This kit includes an O-ring and gasket and is designed specifically for use on 12-inch vertical shaft single-cylinder engines.

The carburetor float is housed in the carburetor and is used to help control the fuel flow. It adjusts the needle valve and ensures that the appropriate amount of fuel reaches the carburetor bowl. This helps provide the right mixture of air and gasoline for the engine to operate at optimal performance. Over time, the float can become worn or detached, or the pin could come loose. When this happens, the flow is affected, and the engine will not operate correctly. If the float isn't working correctly on a lawnmower or another small engine, it might be time for a replacement. This replacement part is a genuine OEM product designed to be used with many Briggs & Stratton engines, including lawnmowers, pressure washers, generators, and other lawn and outdoor equipment engines. It is sold as a single unit with the metal cotter pin included. There are more than 150 compatible machines that this unit will work with. If your lawnmower isn’t working as it should or if the float has come loose and can't control the flow appropriately, this OEM replacement can get things back in working order.

The carburetor has a float valve to control the flow of fuel from the tank to the reservoir. A float valve has three main components - a float, seat, and a needle. When there is adequate fuel level in the carburetor, the float will rise, prompting the needle to close against its seat and prevent overflowing. If the float valve is malfunctioning, it may overflow the carburetor. In some cases, it doesn't provide ample fuel into the carburetor. If you suspect that the needle and seat are faulty, don't waste another moment. Over time, a defective needle and seat can lead to more expensive repairs like a leaking carburetor and even an engine misfiring. For a genuine OEM replacement, get this Midwest Engine 398188 Needle & Seat Kit. Please take note that the Midwest Engine 398188 Needle & Seat Kit only comes with the needle and seat. If you also need a genuine Midwest Engine float replacement, you will need to purchase it separately.

A carburetor on a lawn or garden appliance often has a float-feed chamber or bowl mounted on one side. This is a miniature fuel tank that takes a trickle feed from the main fuel supply. A carburetor is unable to use fuel that is under pressure, so the float chamber keeps everything at atmospheric pressure. When any sort of dirt or debris enters the fuel and air passages, it can cause an array of issues. The debris may enter due to shrinkage of O-rings and gaskets, and that is why a replacement gasket is essential. A carburetor screwdriver is essential when making this repair. Replacing it involves removing several pieces of the carburetor assembly, including a float assembly, inlet needle valve, and the old fuel bowl gasket itself. This authentic replacement carburetor bowl gasket will fit a small engine carburetor bowl on wood chippers, leaf blowers, pressure washers, tillers, snowblowers, lawnmowers, and small engines. It is compatible with Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Simplicity, Lawn-Boy, Cub Cadet, and Snapper, among others.

This air cleaner gasket keeps air from leaking out. It seals the carburetor's top and air cleaner base together, preventing debris that may enter underneath the cleaner and completely bypass the filter. The carburetor needs clean air to make the combustible mixture for the engine. When tiny particles enter, carburetor and engine performance issues arise like rough starting and flooding. An air cleaner gasket replacement is easy. Disconnect the spark plug wire first. Then, remove the air cleaner door and remove the carburetor cover using a nut driver or a screwdriver. Unscrew the fasteners holding the air cleaner housing and then pull the housing towards you. Use a flat screwdriver to dislodge the gasket at the back. Align the new replacement into the housing and reassemble the components. This air cleaner is a genuine component of Midwest Engine. This brand-new OEM air cleaner will work with lawnmowers, engines, pressure washers, wood chippers, and generators made by Toro, Lawn-Boy, Craftsman, Simplicity, and Briggs & Stratton. This part is sold individually. Bolts and screws for the air cleaner housing are sold separately.

The choke return spring is a part that is used on many small engines in lawn and garden equipment. The part is a component in the choke system that ensures that the correct tension is applied to keep the choke lever in the appropriate position. If the choke return spring is broken or begins to malfunction, the lawnmower may have issues keeping power and running correctly. If the choke return spring is damaged or weak, it will prevent the choke from returning to the correct position. This can cause the engine to speed up and accelerate more quickly than desired. The air filter housing will need to be unscrewed to access the choke return spring. Take the wire off the spark plug and remove the boot from the plug. Remove the spring from the linkage and then clip on the new one. Replace the other components to get the equipment to work again. This choke return spring is an authentic OEM replacement part directly sourced from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. The spring is compatible with various wood chippers, lawnmowers, and pressure washers by Briggs and Stratton, Simplicity, Toro, Lawn-Boy, and Cub Cadet.

This OEM intake manifold o-ring seal is placed between two rigid parts to retain the pressure. It is manufactured from a flexible material that allows the o-ring to create a tight seal between the two parts. A new intake manifold o-ring seal may be needed if the o-ring itself is broken or worn and is not able to create a tight seal. Signs that the o-ring seal has gone bad is if the engine is overheating or the engine misfires or decreases in power during use. Remember to wear gloves when operating or performing care and maintenance on any outdoor power equipment machines. This genuine Midwest Engine part is sourced directly from the manufacturer and sold individually. This intake manifold o-ring seal is used on various lawnmowers and outdoor power equipment products manufactured by Midwest Engine, Briggs & Stratton, Toro, and Lawn Boy.

A carburetor float bowl is an essential part of every carburetor because it controls the flow of gasoline from the fuel tank to the motor. Whether because of gasoline impurities or lots of use, the interior pieces of small engines may fail and need to be rebuilt. For that purpose, the float bowl comes with the three required gaskets. Replacing the float bowl in a Briggs & Stratton carburetor is a simple process. First, detach the carburetor from the engine, then removing the screw from the top of the carburetor housing. Replace the large gasket with the new one, making sure that it fits properly and will seal. Then set the new float bowl down onto the gasket. Next, take the small gasket and place it atop the float bowl, screwing the bolt onto the float bowl. Then it’s time to reattach the carburetor to the Briggs & Stratton engine. This OEM assembly is a factory-built replacement for the original parts it replaces. It is individually packaged and sold separately. Mowers, chippers, generators, blowers, snowblowers, tillers, and other small engines using a Briggs & Stratton engine can use this replacement kit. Among compatible brands are Craftsman, Snapper, Simplicity, Toro, Cub Cadet, and Lawn boy.
