This lock washer is used frequently for a number of applications on power yard equipment. The size, 5/16, is the default for many small engine housing and manifold applications. Lock washers are used with machined bolts to fasten engine blocks to the housing of the equipment being used. The compressed washer is able to handle the constant vibration of the small gasoline engine without losing the seal between the screw or bolt and the housing. Typically these lock washers only need to be replaced when they are misplaced during repairs or when the screws that attach them have to be chiseled or cut away, meaning the washers are destroyed as well. These OEM certified replacement washers have been manufactured to the same specifications as the originals they are replacing. In addition to lawn mowers, lock washers of this type and size are frequently used on blowers, lawn tractors, cultivators, snowblowers, and trimmers. Brands compatible with this type of washer are Murray, Husky, Poulan, Bolens, Yard-Man, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, MTD, and Ryobi.
This is a bushing made from black plastic with a cleft down the middle to provide enough flex for easy insertion. It has a flanged design, which means it won’t easily pop out after installation, even under stress from constant vibration. The bushing’s primary purpose is to protect wires and cables from damage as they pass through a channel. As such, the material is fairly durable and does not need to be replaced under ordinary circumstances. That said, there are some situations in which it can become damaged. For one thing, it’s easy to damage while repairing the wires or cables that run through the bushing. If the bushing does need to be replaced, it requires disconnecting any cables or wires that run through the bushing. Pop out the old bushing with a rubber mallet, install the new bushing the same way, reconnect the wires, and the repair is complete. This is an OEM part sourced directly from MTD, and it is sold individually. It was initially used on snowblowers but has also been used on lawnmowers and lawn tractors.

This is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in various small engines. This oil fill tube assembly is part of the oil delivery system. This tube delivers the oil to the oil tank when it is added to the engine. If this tube cracks or deteriorates over time, the oil will not make it to the oil tank or the engine. This could lead to complete engine failure if the leak is not discovered. Oil on the driveway or lawn or smoke coming from under the engine when the lawnmower is running is a sure sign that the tube may need to be replaced. The oil fill tube assembly also houses the dipstick which is used to check the oil level in the mower. If the assembly is leaking, the reading won't be accurate and the lawnmower may be operated without adequate oil which can damage the engine. A screwdriver is needed to replace the oil fill tube. Do not replace this part until the engine has cooled. This oil fill tube assembly is made of black molded plastic and sold as an individual unit. It is designed for use in lawnmowers and other small engines manufactured by Toro, Tecumseh, and Briggs & Stratton.
