This spark ignition switch is used on a gas range cooktop to activate the spark module when a surface burner knob is turned. It connects to the burner valve and sends a signal to create a spark at the burner electrode for ignition. Replace this switch if the burner does not spark when the knob is turned, sparks continuously even after the flame is lit, or if only certain burners fail to ignite.
