There are multiple uses for the 5/16-18 Hex Screw. It is often used with small gasoline-powered yard equipment such as lawn and garden machines. While hex screws such as these may be used in edgers and snowblowers, the most frequent use this screw is in yard tractors. This variety of screw is commonly used in attaching the various appendages of gas-powered equipment to a central operating platform. In particular, these hex screws are used to secure the engine block of power tools to the frame or housing of the equipment. Once in place, these fasteners have an almost unbreakable strength to them. This is so much so the case that often, in order to detach the engine manifold and repair the inner workings of an engine, the bolts must be chiseled or cut loose. In such cases, it is necessary for the bolts to be replaced during reassembly. Manufacturers insist that genuine OEM replacement parts be used in the rebuilding process. These replacement parts were manufactured to the same exacting specifications used to make the original screws. These OEM screws are compatible with equipment made and sold by Yard-Man, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Husky, MTD, Bolens, and Yard Machines.
Replace the hex screw in your lawn tractor or riding mower. Used to secure various components throughout the machine. Order a new screw if damaged or lost.
This is a hex screw used on a variety of types of lawn and garden equipment. On large machinery, it is often used to mount the gas tank. On smaller items, it tends to be used to clamp the housing together. It can secure items like plastic, metal, brick, and wood together. It measures 5/16-18 x .75 inches and is made of durable metal. In some cases, the screw can become damaged, broken, or stripped, which means it needs to be replaced.A visual inspection will indicate whether the screw is damaged. If it needs to be replaced, a hex wrench can be used to remove it from the equipment. Afterward, the replacement hex screw can be installed with the wrench before being tightened to ensure materials hold together well. This hex screw is a genuine OEM part that is sold individually. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer. The hex screw is compatible with lawnmowers, wood chippers, log splitters, snowblowers, chainsaws, edgers, tillers, leaf blowers, and string trimmers by Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Ryobi, Troy-Bilt, Husky, Broan, Yard Machines, MTD, Huskee, Montgomery Wards, Bolens, Turf King, Yard-Man, and MasterCut.
With small gasoline-powered tools that require control panels, this hex screw attaches the panel to the handles of the tools. Machined to be durable, important screws such as these take a real beating. In their locations at critical points on the handle, the hex screws are considered "wear items," and thus periodically, they must be replaced. The control panel itself is often a location of extreme forces, jostling, and abrupt movement in unpredictable directions. The constant movement, with sheet metal rubbing against the hex screws from every direction, make wear inevitable. The manufacturers recommend that spare screws of this type be kept on hand if the heavy use of the equipment is expected. Among the gasoline-powered tools that use these screws are snowblowers, yard tractors, mowers, tiller, chippers, shredders, and other tools requiring hand-maneuvered levers. These screws are compatible with a number of equipment brands and manufacturers, including MTD, Ryobi, Poulan, Yard-Man, Bolens, Troy-Bilt, and Yard Machines.
This screw is a genuine Midwest Engine replacement part for appliances operated by small engines, including lawn tractors, lawn mowers, snowblowers, leaf blowers, vacuums, and tillers. The purpose of a screw is to link materials together by piercing into the materials and then rotating it until the materials are firmly clasped together. It is likely that a screw will have to be replaced at some point in the lifespan of an appliance due to simply losing or misplacing the screw. If the materials that are generally supposed to be held together seem to be loosening or have come apart, it is likely that the screw has either fallen out or has undergone damage that has warped it. This kind of damage can be attributed to general overuse, to age, or simply to long-term exposure. If a screw is subject to any of this kind of damage, it is best to replace it immediately. Remember to always wear gloves when handling, repairing, and operating outdoor equipment. This screw is compatible with the following brands: MTD, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, and Yard Machines. This part sold individually.

Flange lock nut secures components on mowers and outdoor power equipment. Replace if stripped, corroded, or missing to restore proper fastening.
This is a flanged lock nut. It’s designed to apply tension, typically on a joint that needs to have a certain amount of flex. As such, it’s mostly used on snowblower chutes and lawnmower handles. They can remain in place, but with a forgiving connection that can take a beating. The nut size is 3/8, with a thread size of 16. A lock nut will generally last for many years. However, the silicone ring inside will wear down if it’s frequently tightened and loosened. It needs to be replaced when it will no longer reliably remain in place. Generally, this begins as a symptom of slight slippage and worsens as time goes on. Thankfully, whether it’s being used on a snowblower or a lawnmower, this nut is generally straightforward to access. Simply unscrew the old nut, then screw the new nut on until it’s nice and tight. Our flanged lock nuts are genuine OEM MTD nuts, and they are sold individually.
Replaces a stripped, damaged, or missing 5/8" hex flange nut on your lawn mower or snow thrower. Secures blades and other components with integrated washer.
The cotter pin is a fastener that is commonly used in lawn and garden equipment. The cotter pin helps provide a secure, locking fit that is adjustable and easy to remove. The cotter pin is commonly used on axles and rods, but it can have many applications depending on the machine and model. Cotter pins can become worn or break down over time because they are exposed to constant vibrations. It is important to replace damaged or broken cotter pins immediately as a broken part can render the equipment useless in many cases. This cotter pin is designed to exact OEM standards by MTD, and is designed for use in various equipment from MTD, Troy-Bilt, Craftsman, RYOBI, Yard Machines, Hard Man, Poulan, Husky, Bolens, and Cub Cadet. This is a 5/16 cotter pin that features a #34 diameter, and is made of a durable metal. This part is sold individually and those who require more than one will have to order multiple quantities. No other hardware is included. Always wear gloves when working on lawn and garden equipment.

This lock washer is used frequently for a number of applications on power yard equipment. The size, 5/16, is the default for many small engine housing and manifold applications. Lock washers are used with machined bolts to fasten engine blocks to the housing of the equipment being used. The compressed washer is able to handle the constant vibration of the small gasoline engine without losing the seal between the screw or bolt and the housing. Typically these lock washers only need to be replaced when they are misplaced during repairs or when the screws that attach them have to be chiseled or cut away, meaning the washers are destroyed as well. These OEM certified replacement washers have been manufactured to the same specifications as the originals they are replacing. In addition to lawn mowers, lock washers of this type and size are frequently used on blowers, lawn tractors, cultivators, snowblowers, and trimmers. Brands compatible with this type of washer are Murray, Husky, Poulan, Bolens, Yard-Man, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, MTD, and Ryobi.

Here is a replacement shoulder screw that is commonly used for various types of outdoor power equipment. Another name for the shoulder screw is a shoulder pin. The screw is often used to help secure the plastic wheels to the deck of a machine. However, different machines may have different uses for shoulder screws and other types of hardware. The shoulder screw is made from metal and is durable. However, the pin may still need to be replaced at some point. Whether it is because of corrosion or being bent, it is important to replace a failed screw with a new one. When performing maintenance on the machine, it is also possible that the screw could become lost, which would require a replacement. This is a genuine OEM replacement shoulder screw. It is sold individually and works with many types of makes and models. The screw is often used for edgers, snowblowers, lawn mowers, and chainsaws. A V-belt is used on riding lawn mowers and yard tractors to turn the blades and the accessories of these power tools. The engine pulley, which supplies power, is connected to the cutting deck pulley, which turns the mower blades, with a V-belt. Over time the V-belt, which is made of rubber, may stretch, calling for the tension on the belt to be adjusted. Eventually the belt will wear to the point that it no longer turns the cutting deck pulley fast enough for the blades to cut grass. Sometimes the belt will crack with dry rot and break. In any of these instances, the solution is to replace the V-belt. In order to replace the V-belt, the cutting deck must be lowered completely. A worn belt will likely slip off the cutting pulley with little resistance. In case the belt is missing, the user will find a diagram with the proper V-belt routing on top of the cutting deck. When replacing the V-belt, make sure to use a genuine OEM replacement part such as this one, which is manufactured to be an exact replacement for the original. This V-belt is compatible with riding mowers from MTD, Murray, Huskee, Troy-Bilt, Yard Machines, and Yard Man.

A ball bearing is a common type of rolling-element bearing. It will use balls to keep space between the bearing races and eliminate friction and contact between moving parts. Ball bearings used in lawn and garden equipment ensure that axial loads and radial loads are evenly supported and that there is only a limited amount of rotational friction on the component. It distributes weight evenly, but will undergo constant wear and tear from vibration, heat, and friction and will need replacement regularly. This ball bearing is a genuine OEM part suited to use in Craftsman, Cub Cadet, Ryobi, Troy-Bilt, MTD, Huskee, Yard Machines, Bolens, Mastercut, and Yard-Man equipment. It may be needed for repair work done on a lawnmower, snowblower, tiller, edger, or a log splitter.
