How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP5263691 / 00610087 Hinge Cable

I ordered new spring lines (2 pack) as well was 2 new springs. I was startled that the parts arrived in less than 48 hours using standard shipping. I went ahead and ordered the springs, even though I assumed they were OK, since I was going to the effort of replacing the lines. I was glad that I did. When I accessed the spring mechanism, I discovered that the plastic frame that holds the spring in place was cracked and the new springs have an improved metal clip that secures to the frame in another slot in the frame. I followed the instructions in the DIY video with no issues. The entire process took about 90 minutes to replace both spring mechanisms. Glad to save the cost of a service call. 

Using the helpful video provided on the AppliancePartsPros.com website the part was very easy and quick to replace. 

After watching your video I was convinced I could repair it myself. I ordered the parts you suggested and within 15 mins my dishwasher was as good as new. 

New parts 

I went online to diagnose what might be wrong. Next, I went to the Appliance Parts Pros website and watched a how-to video on changing out the door hinge cable and spring. (Excellent video gave me the confidence that it was potentially an easy repair) I ordered the parts, (spring and hinge cable) When the parts arrived (within 2 days) I installed them following the video. My repair was even easier than the video indicated as I only had to unplug my power for safety and didn't have to disconnect the water or drain lines as I only had to pull out the dishwasher about 18" to access the door hinge cable and spring. Took me about 15 minutes to pull out the dishwasher, remove the old parts, install the new parts and reset and level the dishwasher in place with the leveling feet and counter screws. 

I had a few other things to do in my house ( changing transformer for doorbell), I called my Handyman. So work for the door was done by him. I showed him your how to do video for repairing this problem. ( from your website) I ordered all the necessary parts and was very satisfied that they worked well. I liked option of crosschecking for parts. Door hinge cable on the left side was broken and he replaced spring, door cable guide, and spring on both sides. It took him less than 30 minutes to do all. Parts supplied by you were better than original in the dishwasher. The only part I did not use was hinge bushing but I will keep it. 

The hinge cable became disconnected, and was worn and frayed. So, I replaced them both anyways. Hinge cable comes as a set of two. I ordered two because I wasn't sure. Now I have a spare, just in case in happens again. It only took 10 minutes to fix. Pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet, removed the old hinge cable with pliers and replaced with new ones. They are a little shorter which causes the door to require more effort to open, but works.
