How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP2802212 / 00298564 Drain Hose

Braided water supply line rubbed against drain line, caused small leak. Leak was not noticed until damage to flooring shown. 

Ordered a new hose, which arrived quickly, and changed the hose......also got rid of the mice. 

Replaced the drain hose. Replacement hose seemed to be made of a thicker material but did not have the rubber end that connects to the garbage disposal. The original hose from Bosch had a molded-on connecting end. I had to make a special trip to the hardware store to complete the job. 

Replaced the Inlet Valve. and a Drain hose. 

I actually removed the dishwasher and ran it through a cycle on the outside deck and had the lower toe kick removed in order to view below. I also elevated the drain line to mimic the same condition it would normally be in as if it were connected to the vacuum breaker. The leak was discovered in the drain discharge hose about 12 inches from the back of the dishwasher. 

I replaced the check valve and found a better attachment point to the sink drain. I purchased a new drain hose just in case things went badly, but did not need it. I appreciate the super fast shipping and easy return system at Appliance Parts Pros. 

I bought the drain hose, the sump to the water inlet hose, and the sump to the float hose. All three fit perfectly. My only serious problem was connecting the drain hose to the air gap. Since the air gap unit was placed in the cabinet before the dishwasher was originally installed, it was difficult to access because of the water and drain lines now in place. 

I followed the video for installation. Only problem was original installation had the hose routed through a corner cabinet between the dishwasher and sink. It appears they made the connections before the countertop was installed, and the hose clamps on the line running to the air gap were inaccessible. Had to cut through the cabinet side to free up the connections so that the new hose could be connected to the line running to the air gap. What a pain! Changing the hose itself was a piece of cake. Caution: the reason the original hose was leaking was because an appliance repairman had kinked the drain hose when pushing the dishwasher back in place, cracking it. Be very careful to avoid kinking the hose when pushing the dishwasher back in place in the cabinet. 

Replaced the waste water line 

I bought a new one and replaced the leaking part.
