How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP2802384 / 00165262 Check Valve

Replaced check valve, was broken off and plugged the drain 

My water heater broke and I had to shut off the hot water. After I repaired the water heater and turned the water back on, my dishwasher started making noises. Not all the time at first, but it progressively got worse, until a couple days later the noise was constant and the tub was not filling with water. Based on other posts online and where the noise was coming from, I decided to replace the water inlet valve. The part arrived quickly and swapping it out took me about two hours. Most of that time was spent figuring out how to get the bottom off of my unit. My model (SHE68M05UC/47) was a little more complicated than the videos that I found online. Once I had access to the part, getting it out was easy accept for getting the hose off. That thing was locked on tight, but I managed to pry it off with a screwdriver. I was worried about mangling it, but the hose has a memory and I popped the new part in and the hose slowly tightened around it. With the clamp back in place, it was all good. Besides that it was just unplugging wires and plugging them back in. Took a few tries because small space/big hands, but I got it all done without having to take the dishwasher out/disconnect water. I replaced the check valve too just to be safe. It is working great and the swelling of my pride is an added bonus. 

After reading here, I decided to replace the water inlet valve. After over 15 years, I'm presuming the internals were corroded with deposits and that's what kept it from closing tight. Replacing the valve was relatively easy, particularly with the great video here. It's been over 24 hours and the problem seems to be fixed. Two tricks I used: 1) piece of cardboard under the valve after replacing to easily see if there were any leaks - they show up quickly on the cardboard, and 2) had two cell phones, used one pointed at the valve to FaceTime the other one so I could see if there were any "catastrophic" leaks while downstairs turning the house water back on. 

We watched several videos on our Bosch dishwasher, and how to repair it. Then went to AppliancePartsPros.com, found the parts we needed, and watched their repair video. It took around 30 to 40 minutes to fix with the help of the video, thank you! 

Simply followed the excellent video on your website. Without it I would have had no idea. Part was installed in no time. Has worked perfectly ever since. 

Watched AppliancePartsPros video, disassembled the dishwasher and replace impeller and seals. 

Cleaned filter and replaced valve allowing backwash. Easy to do and worked perfectly. 

Realized on the weekend that the dishwasher didn’t’t drain after the wash cycle. Kitchen had a plastic smell on Sunday. After looking at the schematic figured it had to do with the drain pump unit. Went online with the make and model number and ordered the part Sunday night and it came in on Wednesday. Had the day off on Thursday and it literally took me less than an hour from gettin the tool bag out to cleaning up the towels protesting the floor. The online videos are a must to show you the process. I reviewed one a second time when I had a bit of trouble popping the front panel off and it took care of the issue. This is the second time I’ve done an appliance project with Appliance Parts Pro’s help and they’ve delivered the parts that work and provided the online help when needed. It was greatly appreciated, 5 stars! Ps. A chip from a dish had jammed inside the impeller and fried the original unit.
