The Check Valve is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. It prevents the backflow of water into the dishwasher after it has been drained, ensuring that dirty water does not re-enter the appliance and contaminate clean dishes.

Causes of a bad check valve can include blockages from debris or food particles, wear and tear over time, or damage from improper installation or handling. These issues can impair the valve's ability to effectively prevent backflow.

Symptoms of a bad check valve include:

  • Water not draining properly from the dishwasher
  • Dirty water pooling at the bottom of the dishwasher
  • Foul odors coming from the dishwasher
  • Residual water remaining in the tub after the cycle ends

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

David, if the water is at the bottom of the sump where the aqua sensor is, this is normal as the drain pump is not going to be able to pump all of the water out. The drain pump utilizes water to push water through the drain, which causes a little bit to be left in the sump assembly.

Shilpa, the drain of the model provided does utilize a check valve 00611320 at the sump where the drain hose would connect into the dishwasher.

Negel, Check and see if the main control is sending voltage to the drain pump. If your getting 120 vac to the drain pump them your pump is faulty or you have a clog may be in the drain line. And if valve continuously fills just curious how you are stopping that. Do you have to turn off the water supply? Possible stuck relay on the control or the solenoid on the valve is stuck open. With both issues, I'm leaning more to control but I would test these things.

Hello Roger, If the drain pump is getting 120Vac when it should be draining but the pump is not running, make sure nothing is in the impeller. If nothing is in there preventing the pump from running and the filters are clean and there are no clogs, you will need to replace the drain pump 00642239. (This is also if the garbage disposer has not been replaced and the knockout in it has not been knocked out.) If you are not getting 120Vac to the drain pump, you may need to replace the control board 00647474. IMPORTANT NOTE: The manufacturer has a note by this part stating that the customer should contact them at 1-800-944-2904 to make sure this is the correct part number for the model number on the units' I.D. tag.

Bob, The non return valve 00165262 would be located on the out port of the sump assembly where the drain hose would connect to the sump. If the non return valve is not there then it would need to be replaced. You will also want to check the impeller on the drain to make sure that the impeller is not damaged.
