How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP3674290 / 00492431 Ignition Device

Did internet search for cause of problem. Appliance Parts Pros had the answer. I watched the video on how to replace the igniter. I ordered the part...it arrived the next day and I installed it in less than an hour. 

Ordered part, watched how to video on line and put the part in. All went smoothly. 

Removed old and replaced with new. 

Another successful repair! Bosch HGS505UC/01 oven-range had a failed oven igniter (oven, NOT broil igniter). The Bosch Service Manual indicated p/n 00492431 as a replacement. Although the Appliance Parts Pros online compatibility checker indicter this p/n was not compatible with this model, it truly is the correct p/n. Ordered the igniter on Thursday morning and promptly received it on Friday via Standard Shipping. It took more time move the oven-range (and clean behind it!) than it did to actually replace the part. Simple and straightforward. Oven is now 100% restored. Appliance Parts Pros is my go-to for parts. Over the last 5 years I've repaired our washer, dryer, and fridge. And now our oven-range. All thanks to Appliance Parts Pros! 

Replaced OEM igniters 

Replaced burner - the orifices near the igniter were rusted shut. I also replaced the regulator in case it was faulty ... I don't like to just throw parts at a problem, but I also wanted this fixed in one go. 

Replaced the bake oven ignition device 

Replaced the igniter. 

Replaced the igniter. There are no videos or instructions on how to replace the grill igniter as this is a fairly rare model of thermador range with a gas grill in the center. The trick was to lift out the whole grill box as the wiring connections are below it. 

Igniter Arrived less than 24 hours after order. Removed stove bottom plate. Removed Front plate to gain access to wire connection. Plugged in new igniter.
