James V Denver , CO December 28, 2018 Appliance: Thermador Cook "N" Vent Downdraft System CVS30RS My Thermador pop up exhaust fan for the cooktop would not move up or down stuck “up” I replaced the drive motor and the switch. Although the switch tested good, I decided to replace it anyway. This was a difficult replacement job. I had to remove the cooktop and the entire exhaust fan assembly. It wasn’t easy to lift the 60lb unit out of the marble countertop hole by myself. I had help installing it though. It took several hours to disassemble the unit and to install the motor and switch. Exact replacement for the motor and switch, which was great, helped. 35 years as an aircraft mechanic also helped. I did a lot of cleaning as it was 16 years old. Now it works like a champ!
