How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP7193108 / 10023852 Water Inlet Valve

Replaced both the water inlet and water inlet valve. Followed the great video instructions posted by AppliancePartsPros.com associates. Can't recommend this online shop enough! 

The water department in my area regularly flushes the pipes. I always get clogged faucet aerators when they flush the pipes. Because of this I suspected the inlet valve was likely clogged and would need to be replaced. I received excellent support from both the order line and the line for assistance in trouble shooting. I ordered an inlet valve with over night shipping. It arrived on time. I installed the part using the supplied video as a reference. Other than a slight difference in my mounting panel for the valve the video was excellent. Once installed I tested the dishwasher and it is working as normal again. 

Bosch dishwasher error code E15 in middle of the night. Water leaking into basin, so dishwasher worked to protect against flooding. Searched web for help, then pulled dishwasher out, unplugged it, accessed basin by folding up insulation, dried basin and Styrofoam disc/sensor, and reset. E15 gone for about 8 hours and two wash cycles, so very slow leak. This time, I looked for source, and found it--the valve access. APP.com is AMAZING. I found the part--the valve access--using my Bosch model and APP.com's great parts diagram. Picture matched my part. Ordered it with confidence with 3-5 business day shipping, and the part arrived the next day! What made the repair easy was the exceptionally helpful video on APP.com, embedded in the webpage for the part. Without it, I'm not certain I would have been able to complete the job. I am so grateful, and what's even better, I paid about $10 less than I would have on another site I had researched. Thank you, APP.com. You saved me a bunch of money and gave me some bragging rights. I was not exposed to appliance repair as a child, so for me to have fixed the dishwasher is impressive. 

After finding out what E:15 error meant, in relatively short order (20 minutes), it was evident that the inlet valve to the rear left of the dishwasher was leaking. From order placement to part arrival (3 business days) to making the repair itself, total time was around 1.5 hours from tear down to reassembly. Medium-low difficulty. 

This error is the result of water collecting in the base of the dishwasher. We had a leaking inlet valve. I followed the video posted to this site and easily replaced the valve. While I had the dishwasher out, I also replaced the inlet housing. 

Watched the wonderful videos at AppliancePartsPros.com. Actually begun by searching E15 on the internet then looking at YouTube videos. Important: Several videos recommended just tipping the washer back and emptying the water from the bottom. Bad idea. There has to be a reason for the water to be there. One video recommended taking off the front door panel then the lower inspection panel (electricity off, water still on, discharge hose on). When I did this I could see the water inlet valve solenoid leaking. Would not have noticed this if I just tipped the washer. More floor damage would have resulted. Replaced the inlet valve and because there was a lot of washing detergent in the water inlet housing, I replaced that also. Great videos folks. Big help.

I ordered a new fill valve from APP.com. I turned off the water and power to the dishwasher, and pulled the appliance from it's alcove. I then removed the old fill valve and replaced it with the new part. I then placed the unit back in it's place and turned the water and power back on. I ran a test cycle to make sure the repair was complete. No more error codes. 

Partial disassembly allowed me to dry up the water in the dishwasher bottom basin due to a leak. Running the dishwasher showed a slow drip coming from the water inlet valve. Replaced valve with the OEM part from Appliance Parts Pros. No more leaking. $ part but hours of work for this DIY guy.
