How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP4927070 / 00622058 Water Inlet Valve

Looked online and it looked like it was the intake valve. Called AppliancePartsPros ordered the part which came in 2 days, and it was fixed in less that 15 min (maybe 30 with clean up). Very very easy to do. Total cost 30 or so. Repair call would have been 75 + repair cost. Thanks so much... 

Had a local technician come out and diagnose the problem. Should have done my research before hand but didn't even think about it. He was very nice but tried to tell me my dishwasher was defective and I should buy a new one even though I mine was only 3 years old. I asked him if I could do it myself and he said probably not. So I watched a couple of YouTube videos and went to town. Easy peasy. Now it works great. So happy I found Appliance Parts Pros as they exceeded my expectations!

You tube is a very resource rich form of media for DIYers like me. I just search YouTube using the “ Why my Bosch dishwasher won’t fill up with water and the site shows possible list of problems and ways to fix it. In my case it was due to a faulty water inlet valve. I ordered the float assembly with the switch as a spare should the part fail in the future. Appliance part pros has been my go to site for appliance repair videos for a decade now. I particularly love their 365 days Return policy. 

First, it took me many hours to figure out where the leak was coming from. The dishwasher safety float was tripping because after a few days it would reach maximum level in the catch pan, pushing the Red float bar up to interrupt the machine. The way I discovered the leak was by putting Green Dye, in the dishwasher on the button on the circulating screen. I ran the machine for a full cycle and looked for leaks on the bottom of the pan(base plate. I did not see any green water on the pan, that lead me to the water inlet since the water that was filling my pan was CLEAR. While the Dishwasher was still connected to the water supply I was able to pull the Inlet valve out of the Bosch. And there it was, drip, drip, drip.. Problems solved. Took the bottom panel off the dishwasher, saw the leak was coming from the water inlet valve. Ordered the replacement part at 6pm EST, paid a little extra for shipping (the $9.95 option) and the part arrived by 1pm the next day! Using the how-to video on this site, I shut the water valve, cut the power, and then replaced the part without even moving the dishwasher. Took about 20 minutes and the leak is fixed! Very happy I was able to fix this problem myself so easily. 

I found the part with the help of Samantha. I searched the website and thought I had found the right part, clicked the "chat" button and Samantha took my information and found the part for me (which was different). I have a friend who is a plumber and he replaced it for me. Excellent experience. Samantha was great. Dishwasher back in operation. 

I hired a Bosch-certified repairman, b/c of prior experience of trying to get a diagnosis from online parts retailers. For a $125 fee he diagnosed the problem, a faulty water inlet valve. He estimated the repair to be $150 for the part, plus $83 for labor = $237. I declined & purchased the part for only $35 at AppliancePartsPros, plus $9 for expedited shipping. It arrived in about 4 days & the install was easy b/c it wasn't necessary to pull the dishwasher out. The valve is just behind the kick board. The machine works like it should now, which is fantastic! 

Replaced water inlet valve and blew out water line with air compressor. Works Great Now!
