How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3791173 / 134321702 Washer Bottom Panel - White

Lifted front of washer on 2x4 blocks to access the 2 screws. Removed to retaining screws then used blade of flat screwdriver to gently pry panel down. Removed the two plastic alignment widgets from the old panel and installed them on new. Removed with use of small adjustable wrench. Needed 1/4 turn to align them with square hold then removed. Installed plastic widgets into new panel. Installed panel back on to washing machine and installed 2 retaining screws. Done!! 

Installed a new paned. You must remove the two plastic locating knobs from the old panel and install them into the top of the new panel. They remove easily by grabbing them with pliers and twisting. I also used some small blocks of wood and a pry-bar to push up on the screw tabs of the new panel to get them to line up with the holes in the frame of the washer. 

Replaced it with a new one. Rust was too severe to paint it. 

Removed the old one(easily) and put on the new one(easy) 

I followed instructions from the web site and I was able to accomplish my mission. It took a little longer than I expected but I am very pleased. I thought I saw a video on this but could not find it again. That would have been very helpful. 

Ordered the replacement handle, unscrewed the old and installed the new. Easy breezy. 

New part 

Easy fix. remove the two screws under panel , pry panel down and out. transfer top pegs to new panel, pry panel up ,insert screws. 

Replaced the front panel with a new one we ordered from you. It fit perfectly and was very easy to install 

This is the pump at the bottom of the machine that moves the water into the waste line. The video was really great. Very well recorded. Only problem was it was not EXACTLY my model. Mine was much, much simpler. All I had to do was remove a panel below the swinging door and the pump was accessible. The video required removing the top panel, remove the control panel, disconnect the rubber door boot, remove the front panel, and access the pump. I got to the point of removing the door panel and realized I could remove just the bottom panel. So, some wasted time. Maybe 15 min. No big deal. The correct parts arrived. The job was pretty easy if you have ANY mechanical skill. The repairman that visited recently said it was time to replace the whole machine with a new model. Did the repair for about 1/8 the cost of a replacement.
