Guy G Guthrie , OK October 10, 2014 Surface switches not operating properly; going from cool to very hot etc Replaced all four element switches. Switches arrived within two days of ordering. That's about normal for AppliancePartsPros. They were the correct ones; not generic, and fit the original control knobs perfectly. This kind of service is what I'm used to from ApplicanePartsPros. David M Loysburg , PA September 16, 2014 Stove burner was always hot or else off no moderate temps Replaced switch. Simple fix. Took picture of wires and noted how they were labeled, since the configuration was not identical on the replacement part - however, the markings: H1, H2, L1, L2, P were the same. Fit perfect. Works great! Read More... 60 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
Lawrence S Batavia , NY March 13, 2014 Appliance: Model KENMORE 740C "Element ON" light on all the time My flat top stove of about 5 years old ( Kenmore) still properly heated correctly but the "element On" light on the back panel which is shared by all 4 burners would stay on even if all burners were turned off. This new front left surface element switch solved the problem. Inside the switch it was charred which was causing leakage current to flow to keep the light on. I could tell it was the front left because the light was slightly dimmer when this burner was turned on vs. the other three burners which turned the light on a little brighter. The repair was easy, removing the 5 rear panel screws allowed me to access the switch wiring which just unplugged with a little force, re-wired the new switch the exact same way by removing one wire then putting it back on the new switch in the same spot. Removed the knob and two mounting screws, freed the old switch and the new switch was easily re mounted. Even cleaned the stove and behind it, found about 35 cents too! Roger R Pass Christian , MS April 12, 2015 Appliance: Kenmore Electric Range 79096002600 One smaller burner would not stay on very long and the larger burner would not shut off I had to shut the breaker off first. I was looking on the Parts Pro site and it looked as though other people were having my exact problem. I ordered two surface switches but note: they look the same but go by the wattage numbers on the side of the switches. Small burner is 1250-1500w verses large burner 2100-2600.You will see by the video they are easy to change. The new switches are larger and the connections will be in different locations. Unscrew the front screws to move the ole switch with wires still attached. Install new switch then remove one wire off at a time Read More... 26 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers
Lillian W Spartanburg , SC January 24, 2016 I needed two surface switches for my stove I went on your website and opened the live chat, then I the attendant answered all my questions and even went through the check out process. It was a very pleasant experience. I received the parts two days later and installed them. My stove is working like new. I saved a considerable amount than I would have paid at my local appliance parts store. Robert M Alexandria , NH May 01, 2016 Appliance: Model 79090212013 The large front burner would go to high heat no matter what it was set to I replaced the large surface burner switch. The difficult part was getting the stove away from the wall and finding the proper tools. I ordered drip pans at the same time and they fit so much better than the generic ones we got from a chain hardware store! Donald P Donna , TX January 25, 2015 Appliance: Model KENMORE 790--4400 The element on the stove would not shut off I emailed the Appliance Parts Pro. They gave me a diagnosis, a suggested part and told me where to find a short video on how I could install the switch. The part came in 3 days, The install went as shown on the video. I'm extremely pleased. The cost to fix the element was very reasonable compared to what I envisioned when my wife said the element on the stove wouldn't shut off.
