The Bake Element is an OEM replacement part for GE electric ranges. It is the internal heating element located at the bottom of the oven cavity that provides heat for baking and convection cooking functions. This heating element measures 17 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches.

Causes of a bad bake element include failure due to normal wear and tear over extended use. Exposure to spills or splatters inside the oven can potentially damage heating coils or insulators.

Symptoms of a bad bake element are:

  • Inconsistent or uneven baking temperatures
  • Element does not heat up or turns red but puts out no heat
  • Buzzing/humming sounds from beneath oven cavity
  • Failure of oven to operate or preheat as expected

This OEM part is also compatible with ranges sold under the Hotpoint, RCA and some Kenmore brands.
