How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2058495 / WR2X4901 Refrigerator Door Cam Riser

Removed door hinge from top, lifted up door and put the new cam riser in place. ( used two people to help remove door while making repair ) 

Searched and located the hinge cams, replaced the cams problem solved. I will ADD it was fairly simple there is a video showing how I am 81& it took all of 20 minutes job completed. 

Replace washer at bottom hinge

REMOVED DOOR, REPLACED WORN PART. 

We (my husband and I) looked at a instructional video, however it was for a refrigerator door, which does not have the water line. So after attempting to change the cam riser one evening, we decided to research disconnecting the water line. Once my husband knew out to disconnect the water line, it was a pretty easy process to change the cam riser. 

Unplugged the old icemaker electrical connection. Took 3 screws out. Screwed the new icemaker into position (only needed 2 screws). Plugged in the new icemaker connection. Done! 

Replaced riser. It was the freezer door so there was an electrical disconnect required at the top of the door and a drain tube disconnect required at the bottom of the door which make the replacement a bit longer than an earlier replacement on the other door. No problem though. 

I am a 71 year old widow and I was able to remove the door and replace the cam at the bottom with no help from anyone. It took me longer to find the right tools than it did to fix it!!
