How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2057539 / WR02X10140 Refrigerator Door Hinge Cam Riser

I made a lucky guess when I ordered the part as I had no model # or anything to go by. I just ordered what looked like the right thing and it was the exact part for my fridge. Replacement was easy. 

The correct parts (WR02X11284 & WR02X10568) are no longer available so I substituted these parts after the following modifications. The screw hole in Hinge Cam Riser WR02X10140 was enlarged to 3/8” with a Dremel tool, using the original as a pattern. The outside diameter of Cam and Thimble WR02X11284 is 0.040” larger than the original part and would not fit in the hole of the door. I reduced the diameter with a lathe. I’m sure the OD could also have been reduced with a file though it would have taken more time and the lathe does a nicer job. The door closes like new now. 

Replaced one cam riser on bottom of door, the cam riser on the hinge itself i found out was shot also, but it is riveted to hinge, don't want to replace whole hinge for big bucks it. it is quieter but won't close itself now, 10$ shipping seemed kinda steep for a 3 gram piece of plastic. otherwise 

Installed the new cams in both refrigerator door hinges. They now work fine. 

I bought a new one. I received it in one day and installed it the same day. I was very pleased with the service I received. 

I replaced the Hinge Cam Risers in both doors (the refrigerator is 25 years old). The replacement was easy, but when I closed the refrigerator door, it didn't quite close all the way. When I loaded it back up with food, it closed fine. Successful repair, my wife is happy. 

Replaced ice door assembly and spring, and ice tray auger and helix (helix was spinning free of auger because worn groove in auger). 

Purchased cam riser and hinge. Followed the video on Appliance Parts Pros and fixed it in 20 minutes. 

It was simple after diagnosing problem 

Remove door & replace part -- "hardest" part is to get the door off as it is cumbersome.
