How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5790793 / WB21X10165 Sensor Assembly

Replaced both temperature sensor and cooling fan. New parts fixed the problem. The oven wouldn’t turn on. 

GE double oven, replaced the sensor assembly on the lower oven. 

Temp was running 30f low. The tricky part was trying to get the connector to come through the wall. I used a screwdriver to slightly move the insulation out of the way and pulled on it lightly and it came through so it was a pretty easy fix. But since I did not turn off the power first, I got an error code when I disconnected the sensor. So I just cycled power and it cleared, then another code came up but it cleared itself within about 5 seconds. You do need a torque screwdriver. Not sure what size but it was the littler one. 

Replaced main control board using part from appliance parts pros 

Removed oven from wall disconnect the power. Removed top and back sheet metal so I can see wiring. Tested sensor for resistance. Ordered two new sensors and a CU board. Only installed sensors since oven turned on and will test unit for one week before installing. 

Purchased a new temperature sensor and replaced it. The process was very easy. Just one screw. The whole thing was done in about 5 minutes. 

Ordered and replaced Senor Assembly. Figuring out how to remove the oven door took about 15-20 minutes. Because of my physical disabilities, I had problem reaching the backside of the oven to remove/replace the senor. I haven't tested the oven but I'm hoping the temperature issue has been resolved. By the way, my order arrived in 3 days. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros. 

I replaced the main control board and the sensor assembly. 

First I checked the new one's ohms reading with added heat and ice. Replaced the old rtd and checked the ohms reading on the old one. It read good at first but it failed as more heat was added. 

Replaced the diode and magnetron.
