How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2014510 / WB2X9719 Support Bracket

Just snapped it in place. 

Removed the front of the dryer. Removed the old bearing slides. Installed the new bearing slides. Then reassembled the dryer. 

I ordered the part and it came super fast. Watched the video on how to install from the site and then in about 5 minutes the broiler was like brand new! Didn’t need the clip we bought, but will keep it just in case we ever do. 

Replacement parts came the next day! Easy job with helpful short video. Only very minor glitch was that replacement clips needed to be pried open just a little then the element needed to be popped into them gently with pliers covered with a piece of cloth so as not to possibly crack or scratch the new one. Would suggest mentioning this as a helpful hint. 

I removed the screws attaching the element inside the oven and tried pulling it through the insulation. Unfortunately, the wire on the left side was not long enough to pull through. I had to pull out the range to access the rear panel. Removed two screws on sheet metal rear covering to access the wires. Created more slack on the wires and then was able to attach the new element inside the oven. Closed up the back, pushed in the range and the job was done. Took about 1/2 hour at most. Very easy and I saved a boatload of money if I had the appliance store come out to repair it.. 

Ordered from Appliance pros. Widened the prongs slightly with pliers and snapped it in. 

I asked my wife if she accidentally pushed for broil and not bake as intended, and she didn't think so. She had me there why the broiler element was activated, and later read that the bake and broiler element will sequentially operate to heat up oven. Anyway she threw baking soda in there onto the sparks, more mess. I didn't realize one side of element was hot and a little more sparking back there when changing it. You guys sent correct part 

Replaced damaged coil and support brackets. 

Not difficult. Less than 10 minutes. 

Being a 66 yr old woman who has never repaired anything electrical before I was hesitatsnt to do this. But I ordered the bake element too & the clips ( with help from the Chat person) And replaced everything - flipped the breaker back on, said a little prayer & baked a peach cobbler! All is well! Thank you!
