How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2044921 / WH1X2754 Timer Knob Assembly

At first I thought this was the wrong knob, but there was just a metal part I needed to remove, then it fit perfectly. So glad to find this for 1998 washer! 

First I broke the knob because I hadn’t seen your great video yet. I ordered the new one from you guys. It came the next day but when I put it on as instructed it didn’t work right. The metal nub kept going in behind the control surface. So I took the whole thing open and discovered the timer mechanism itself was loose due to a broken plastic piece that the holding screw went through. I then used super glue and a washer for the screw and drilled another hole next to that one and put in another screw and washer to make sure all was secure. Then the new knob you sent worked perfectly. Thanks. 

Found washer model# and put in search. Found what I was looking for and ordered it. It was that easy. Best thing, it fit perfectly the first try. 

I yanked out the big agitator plastic thing with my hands (not a belt or rope), which was much easier than the videos made it seem, and I easily replaced the washer agitator coupler. One of the easiest repairs I've ever done, and I'm not really a fix-it guy. 

Replaced it with a new one. 

Order knob ... easy fix . Great product , great service!!!
