How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6027534 / WE04X24551 Timer

I ordered a new knob and the switch, watched a video online on how to remove and replace it. I did this all by myself, no help from hubby. The hardest part was getting that little tiny screw out that holds the unit in. It couldn't be a regular screw like a Philips head. No it was a six sided screw and very tiny. Anyway, got it out finally and the rest went smoothly. I had originally ordered the wrong knob online. After getting the wrong one I phoned them to make sure I got the right one. I am sure I saved a lot of money by not having the repairman out. GE parts are expensive enough without having to take a mark-up from a service. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros for your help!

Replaced the defective part. 

Replaced the timer, took me about 20 minutes. 

I watched a YouTube video and having extensive maintenance experience changing the timer and know was relatively easy. My dryer matched the video exactly. Beginning to end probably 30 minutes. The hardest part is always pulling out the dryer far enough to get to the back. Remember to unplug the dryer. Also, having a T10 wrench isn't likely for most people. I had one and it is necessary to get out one tiny screw hold the timer in place. 

I bought a new one and put it in. 

I ordered a genuine GE replacement part for my GE Dryer from Appliance Parts Pros and it arrived within 24 hours. I followed a YouTube video and was able to replace the timer within ten minutes. Dryer works like new!
