How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5788219 / WE4M532 Dryer Timer

We found a photo of the Timer on your website. It arrived at my house in less than 48 hours. A simple removal of the front panel. Unplug and remove the Timer. Put on the replacement Timer and that's it. 

Only took a screw driver to fix the timer. Removed 6 screws for back cover. Only had 2 screws for the timer. Unplugged the wires and connected to the new timer. Replaced screws for timer and back cover, only took about 10 minutes. Pressed the new timer knob on and I was back in business. So easy a caveman could do it. 

Replaced the timer in 10 minutes. 

I needed to find a tiny star head screw driver and used a regular Phillips screw driver. I made a diagram of the 5 terminals that had wires connected. Removing the old timer was simple. Just remember that one notch needs to be depressed for turning the timer to pull it out. The whole job took less than 30 minutes! This was based on not having done this before. A pro could probably do it all in 10 minutes. It's that simple! Note: The timer diagram and part number were in the cavity holding the timer. I expected to find it in the manufacturers instruction manual! Other than that there was no mystery involved in replacing it! 

Replaced the timer and knob, it was super easy. 

Since there was heat on one segment of timer , I knew the heating elements were working. Replaced the timer control unit and all segments heated as designed. ( Disassembled old timer unit and found that one contact had burned .) Watched the video from appliance parts pros which made the replacement fast and easy
