How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5780508 / WE4M533 Dryer Timer Control Assembly

After a service call for $75 and an estimate of $350 to repair. I went on appliance part site ordered parts watched do it yourself video and saved nearly $260 

Easy. Ordered timer from appliance parts pros. I received the part within a couple of days. I took the faulty timer out swapped wires reinstalled and the fix was completed. 

Replaced the timer. As easy as 4 small screws and 6 wires. Just remember to unplug first. Totally zapped my finger taking off a wire. Whoops. One Phillips, one flathead and one hex key for the inner screw. Took 7 minutes if you don’t count the time I used hunting for our hex keys. 

Replaced above parts. Watching the short video was a big help. Ordering parts, a snap. AppliancePartsPros people were very helpful, even on off-hours could not have gone better. Thanks 

Timer knob got rounded off and unusable. Mom in law was using needle-nosed pliers to make it work and it was hard to gauge how much time was going to run. Ordered my part, it was here in 2 days,10 mins fix for my hubby and my mom-in-law is happy. Priceless awesome service! 

Ordered that new switch and installed it effortlessly. Drying clothes right now.
