How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4324356 / WH02X10265 Tub Bearing Split Ring

With parts purchased from Appliance Parts Pros and watching their videos to make sure I got everything hooked back up correctly. I replaced the bearings, seals, washers and tub dampers, all four of them. I had to use a hydraulic jack and straps to get agitator out. Also a three pound hammer and block of wood to get the tub free. Our washer was purchased in 2008 and never had been apart. Once back together, I tested it with no leaks and a heck of a lot quieter. We washed four loads and are quite pleased with it.

This was my first time working on a washer machine. I watched the videos on how to fix my problem on the website that's on Appliance Parts Pros have and it was explained good enough for me to complete the job. 

Replaced shaft drive and tube assembly, basically the transmission. 

I fixed by taking the washer apart... then I ordered all the parts from the appliancepartspros store and installed with no issues. 

The inner tub base had corroded and broke in two. I purchased the hub & hub nut locally but had to drill & cut the hub nut to get it off. In doing so I drilled too far into the tub bearing ring. I ordered that part from Appliance Parts Pros, assembled the washer which works fine. 

Replaced the shifter assembly, drum seal and bearing. 

The hub nut was impossible to remove with the spanner wrench, I had to cut it out by drilling into it and then chiseling the nut until it broke. When I finally got down to the hub bearing, it did not show any wear and it was also impossible to remove. The bearing housing appeared to be fused to the plastic tub. I felt I would do more damage in removing it and possibly damaging the tub which then would have to be replaced. There is no signs of water leaking it appears to be working fine at this point. Joe 

I first watched your helpful video on replacing the tub bearing. I then went back and ordered every part involved in that and I figured I will have the washer that far taken apart I may as well change the belt too. Your videos make these repairs fairly simple.
