Dean N Lenexa , KS November 25, 2022 Appliance: General Electric General Electric GTWN4950L1WS Squeaking and banging when agitating. I replaced the tub bearing and shaft and tube assembly. The only hiccup was hub nut was ceased on the shaft and wouldn't release with a wrench. Had to cut the hub nut off to proceed with the repair. Tom R Elk River , MN February 19, 2022 Appliance: General Electric Washer WKSE5260E1WW The inner tub mounting plate disintegrated The mounting plate is cast and will fail while coming apart in chunks and pieces. These pieces will involve the pump and will cause general instability while in the spin cycle. My approach was to replace the plate and while in there the usual: bearing, seal, tub bearing split ring, belt, drum stability mounts. Tip #1: You will need a 1 11/16 wrench to remove the drum nut. I went to the hardware store and bought a box wrench for $26 and cut it down with a hacksaw so that it would fit within the space allowed. I hammered on this with a lead hammer. Don't be shy when hammering, the nut is on there and it will take some effort to break it loose. You'll notice that the wrench here is about $80. Tip #2: make sure that the nut is on there tight when putting things back together. Hammer on it, not a lot, but, enough to make sure that it is on there tight. I missed this at first and got excess noise during the agitation cycle. Once tightened things were as usual. Read More... Kevin B Bear , DE January 12, 2022 Inner tub hub destroyed. Followed YouTube videos. The only problem was we had to cut off the nut that holds down the inner tub. The shaft is squared so you can cut the nut without destroying the threads that hold the tub down. Easy fix but for cutting off the nut. Read More... Kathy B Loxahatchee , FL May 28, 2021 Appliance: General Electric Washer WDRR2500K0WW It would not agitate. I looked on your website to see what the issue might be, and ordered the parts. I had a little difficulty getting the front of the washer off, but once off it was pretty easy to replace the drive belt and then the agitator coupler. Not being a handyman I was surprised it worked. Charlie W Howland , ME April 26, 2021 Appliance: General Electric Washer WSSR3120W1WW Tub seal leaking. Drive belt loose and slipping, no spin. Found your site and with the repair and parts information provided and the help of your nice associate on the phone, I diagnosed and repaired the washer in just a few hours. The biggest challenge was removing the hub nut. You need a can of penetrating oil, a sharp chisel, a short handled ball peen hammer and lot of patience to remove this if it`s corroded on. A socket was no use. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Socket Set
