How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4436514 / 3108ER1001B Pump Casing

Following what I've seen or watched from you tube video clinic "how to replace drain pump for LG Washer, model wm2277hw and the help that I received from representative/ customer service of appliacepartspros, I fixed our LG Washer no problem. I am very much thankful to the representative of AppliacePartsPros who help me analyzed the problem and recommended the right parts that I needed and most importantly arrived 2 days as ordered. Checked for clogs in drain line, filter and pump. Didn't see any so per reviews and research, decided to replace pump and casing. Working good again!! 

I sat an watched a wash cycle. When it came to drain cycle I could hear the pump making a grinding noise! Door bellow seal leaked too. I ordered new pump and housing,new door bellows seal. The clearance of the pump impeller and housing are real important. I have jet Skies and I knew it is an issue. Watched the video on the repair. Gave me all the instructions to take it apart. One thing it did not show. Lube the new seal mating surface with laundry detergent. It went right on. I have never paid a repair man to fix an appliance. You can do it ! This site has helped me many a time! 

We first checked all the hoses to make sure they were not the cause of the leak, and they were in tact, so we figured it was the pump.....My husband digs clams every so often, and his clothes come back filled with sand. I rinse them out in the sink first, but it's impossible to get all the sand..We watched a video on how to perform the procedure. 

Replaced the pump. 

Replaced the drain pump. I found Appliance Parts Pros and watched the online video. Right below the video was a box to order the replacement part. I received it in two days. The replacement was shockingly easy. The video couldn’t have been easier; very accurate and easy to follow. Taking my time, the repair took me about 30 minutes. 

Remove and replace the Drain Pump Motor. 

After a little bit of research on Youtube - we were able to decipher that the problem was in the drain pump motor. We ordered the pump case, the drain pump motor and the filter assembly. It took about 30 minutes to un-assemble and about 2 hours to re assemble. I highly suggest taking photos as you un-assemble. The pictures along with the how to videos made it pretty easy. Toughest part was getting the metal washer ring back into the rubber door thing. It definitely took two unexperienced people to get it back together! All in all a pretty easy project, saved $800 and we have successfully ran more than 20 loads of laundry!!!!!!! 

Ordered part and watched instructional video. Done in less than 45 minutes. 

I found Appliance Parts Pros while researching the drain pump. The videos accompanying the part search helped identifying what it would require to replace. Decided to change several other parts since I was gong to have disassemble the Washer quiet a bit in order to replace the pump. Replaced the pump, but also replaced the Door Gasket, pump hose, pump case, and filter assembly because of concerns with lingering odor in washer (even though the door is always left open). Glad I did as I did find slime and crud built up on walls and crevices of all previously ID'd parts. In all, it took about 3 hours to replace all the parts - the Videos were a great help and I used them as reference as needed throughout. I would estimate that I saved at least $500 on a service call.
