How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5251356 / 6201EC1006T Noise Filter Assembly

I initially replaced the main circuit board. That was complicated and didn't help. Then I read that the "filter" was an **electrical** filter board and often caused this problem. I did a few tests that suggested it was indeed the problem and ordered a replacement board. It was a quick (15min) fix once I had the part, much easier than replacing the main circuit board had been. It was helpful to use a LARGE needle nose pliers or slip jaw wrench to pull out the tabbed connectors. It's still a little dicey (particularly on the main circuit board). Suggestions are welcome. 

I noticed some burned parts on the the power in Noise Filter. The part was toast. I drove to my local Appliance store and they told me they could have the part in about 2 weeks. I googled my part number and found it on AppliancePartsPros.com. I ordered it on that Friday afternoon and FedEx showed up the very next morning! It took about 10 minutes to install it. I highly recommend this site. John 

Removed two screws securing washer top. Suspecting the cause was a faulty circuit board, looked for burnt spots on circuit boards. Found burnt spot (black/dark brown discoloration) on noise filter. Easily removed two wire harnesses and one mounting screw from noise filter. Replaced with new noise filter which corrected the problem. Washer works like new. This repair is super easy, a Phillips screw driver is all that is required. Figure I saved hundreds over calling a repair man.
