How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5669929 / 4774EN3002A Hinge Pin

I opened the back and found a leaking rear shock absorber. I replaced the shock absorber and the lock pins. It is much easier to cut the old pins to pull the old shock absorber and the new pins are $1.98 each. It saves a lot of skinned knuckles. The new shock absorber can be found for about $12 and goes in easy. The machine is back up and running. 

The Front Load LG washer sounded like it was going to lift off when it started to spin. I replaced three shock absorbers and that made a world of difference. Because the washer is sitting on hardwood floors it still wanted to walk around a bit, I placed the front two legs on a piece of anti-fatigue matting. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!! The video provided does not match my machine but once I took the back off it was very clear what to do. On another note I was led to believe that the locking pins were sold separately so I ordered 6 to cover the job. When the parts arrived the shocks had new pins with them. I called Appliance Parts PROs and they were pleasant, easy to work with and immediately took care of the problem. 

Took the washer apart and replaced the bearings and other worn parts.
