Dale P Emmett , ID March 25, 2023 Appliance: Model LFXS30796D /00 Ice maker would only cycle and dispense ice when "reset" (lifted metal lever) Chatted with AppliancePartsPros.com online who determined I needed to replace only the Ice Maker Assy Kit. Received assy in perfect condition, not over-packaged, just right. Began the process of locating the screws to access the assembly needed, and ended up taking out all of them, to find that I only needed to remove three. As this is only the first ice maker assembly I had replaced (this is actually the third replacement ice maker assembly installed) I didn't realize that there is fabric tape that held the wires in place. Next ice maker assy I install, I will make sure to order some of that. Next assy will be less than a 15-minute install. Read More... Burning smell and there was black residue on the left side of the unit Used the model number to locate the correct part and ordered. I had cleaned the unit before so I knew how to remove it from the door. I removed the old icemaker and installed the new one and turned the icemaker back on from the door control. Read More...
