How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7220429 / 4581EL2002L Roller Kit

Ordered a new dryer roller assembly from APP. I received it the next day, and I watched the video that LITERALLY took me step by step! Video was to replace the belt, but the roller was one step before the belt, so I just skipped the belt part and replaced the roller assembly. Initially, it seemed like a lot to disassemble but when you follow the steps, it was super easy and took me less than 30 minutes. I didn't just order the wheel, but the whole assembly, because I needed the bolt that comes with it. 

I first watched the repair video to see what was involved with taking the dryer apart. Then I gathered all the necessary tools. Once the information was reviewed and the correct tools were in hand, I started the repair. It took me about an hour and a half to replace all four drum support rollers, the dryer had a lot of lint in it so I gave it a good cleaning while it was apart. It operates good as new once again! 

Read up on possible causes - and guessed it was a combination of the drum belt, drum rollers and tension pully. Ordered all three items before I started the project.

Diagnosed thanks to Appliance Parts Pros videos. I can't tell you how helpful the video was when it came time to disassemble my dryer, but the step by step instructions and clear video made it very easy. The lack of a belt over the drum made it apparent what the problem was, and as I disassembled the dryer, I did a thorough, needed cleaning with a shop vac and compressed air. I then discovered one of my drum rollers had spun its bushing and needed replacement. I ordered Wednesday night, paid for the mid-tier "fast" shipping and my parts were waiting for me when I got home Friday. Another video refresher and I was back at it, and had my dryer back together and quieter and smoother than ever a short time later. Easy as pie, saved a ton of money and feel more confident that any appliance problems that creep up, I can probably handle. 

Replaced the roller with new and installed a new drive belt at the same time as a precaution. Got the right parts at the expected delivery time the first time. I am very happy with the service provided. 

My dryer was still drying clothes but it was very loud. After doing some research and speaking to a tech, I ordered a new drum roller. The “how to” video was easy to follow and I swapped out the worn roller in a little over an hour. The dryer is now working and is back to its quiet self. 

I watched a couple of videos online, and I believed that one of the front drum rollers might be bad. I ordered 2 of them to replace both front rollers and I had no problem installing them myself. It turns out that one of the rollers had seized up completely. It even had a flat spot from the drum rubbing against it. The whole job took about an hour and that included the time I took to vacuum out the inside of the machine. 

Replaced all four rollers and drive belt. The dryer was stacked on top of the washer. This repair is possible without taking the dryer down. If you can access the dryer from the side to remove the three screws in the back that secure the top, everything else can be done from the front using a small stepladder or stool. Had one issue with a Phillips screw that was very hard to remove, otherwise it was straightforward. This model was slightly different than the one in online videos, but not hard to figure out. Prepare to use a shop vac and/or compressed air to clean out lint. New rollers use bearings instead of bushings, should be last much longer.
