How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4445128 / 6500EL3001A Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar

Took apart the dryer and replaced the Heater Assembly due to no heat being produced from and setting. Installed a dryer thermistor and a new belt while in there. 

I looked up the potential parts I needed by the percentage of failure rate which was amazing. I picked the top three parts and watched the video and replaced the parts and it worked perfectly. This is one amazing site 

This was an easy fix and took less than 2 hours. I replaced the drum rollers (4) that were worn and while I had the dryer apart replaced the belt and moisture sensors (2). LG Dryer DLE0442W has 4 drum rollers; 2 in the front (very easy to replace) and 2 in the back which were a little trickier to replace. The schematic isn't clear on the 2 in the back, but it has 2. Older rollers required a 14 mm wrench for the nut and 9/10 mm wrench to turn the spindle. The new ones install with a 14 mm wrench for the nut and 6 mm wrench for the spindle. 

Replaced all four rollers, belt, and sensors, since I already had the unit apart. It's really not that hard of a job, if you can change the oil in a car, you can do this repair. Follow the step-by-step repair video and you will not have a problem. 

I searched YouTube and couldn't quite find my model, but figured it was probably the heating element and saw in the parts list a monster sensor. So I ordered both and knowing the dryer to have a number of years on it, I got a belt also. When I started taking it apart the belt was shot, the heating element looked cooked. Found where the sensor was according to the parts listing. Cleaned the entire dryer of all buil- up lint and debris. Put it all back together which wasn't as hard as I initially thought it was going to be. Put it back in place and it works great! Ran through 2 cycles with no issues. Clothes are dried wonderfully. No warning lights or issues with the computer. This is about the 5th time I have ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros.com. The shipping was good and bubbled wrapped. Parts were all correct fit. I will continue to use them and recommend them. I hate spending money for a new one when the one we have just needed a little maintenance. 

Replaced Moister Bar and Dryer Lint Filter, drying as normal. If the problem arises again will replace the Dryer Thermostat. 

Needed rollers to repair my noisy dryer. Since the dryer is 16 years old I decided to replace all the thermostats while I had it apart. I took a "scorched earth approach" and replaced all the sensors in the dryer + a new belt, in a "while you are in there" approach. It was easy, your videos make is super clear on how to install each sensor. 

My son replaced the easiest part first which was the Dryer Ignitor and that seemed to solve the problem. We bought all the parts it could be, but used only the one. 

Replace thermistor and moisture sensor bars. Replaced the moisture sensors first even though the old ones looked good. One thing I noticed was the metal on the new bars were slightly thinner than the old ones and the connectors were now too loose. Had to tighten up with small screwdriver. Then changed the thermistor, boy that was a challenge but thanks to the video that you had on the website I felt comfortable doing the job. Everything was put back together with no extra parts and now, The dryer is working like new again!!
