How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4445128 / 6500EL3001A Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar

Replaced five parts and works like new! 

You guys are absolutely awesome! I bought the 5 most recommended items for repair (a total of about $120) because I didn't have the time or the energy to go through the parts one at a time. I replaced the ignitor, the high limit thermostat, the two thermistors, and one of the moisture sensor bars. The videos were very helpful and even though I have a steam unit, the repairs were similar enough that I could figure it out and I am not an experienced repair person. Of all the parts I replaced, it was the high limit thermostat that had failed. Once I swapped that out, everything worked fine. It is drying clothes as I write this. Again, the videos were awesome and if I had paid better attention, I probably could have got the whole thing done in about 4 hours. (I made one mistake and that cost me a lot of time to figure it out). One pro-tip, I had to go to the hardware store to purchase an offset screwdriver. That turned out to be really handy for removing some of these screws in tight spaces. Please feel free to share my story. If you'd like to edit it or use it differently, please feel free.

I talked with Mike from your company and I ordered 4 parts that you had in stock I watched the install videos that you provided. I installed the parts and my dryer is working brand new again. 

Replaced the moisture sensors in the dryer. Not a bad repair other than you have to bend the lock tabs out a little more before inserting into the element holder. Also wiggle the elements on the tab end to gain easier insertion. 

Talked to a very sweet girl named Sheba after answering a few questions about the issue Sheba recommended a thermistor and possibly of heating element . I was Quickly priced the amount of the parts and opted to just get both to insure a 1 time fix. Sheba was a great girl and very knowledgeable about her job. I bought the 2 parts which were very reasonable did all she maintenance she recommended also and BANG !All is good in the universe. Wife is happy works like new. HAPPY WIFE happy LIFE! P.S outstanding shipping. Arrived earlier than expected arrived in 2 days! THESE GUYS ARE 10 STARS in my book!! And Sheba is an 11 Thanks ?? Important thing to check make sure your exhaust system is completely clear the duct inside the dryer was very stopped up which I’m sure attributed to the failure. 

Watched the videos on doing repair before part arrived. Actually before ordering to see if it was a job I could handle. Seeing simplicity, ordered the part and fixed per video instruction and was done in no time. A spring tool is not needed but would have taken minutes off the job. Part arrived in a timely manner and fit was exact. Thanks. 

Went to y’all’s website and ordered parts relevant to why the heating element wasn’t working as should. The schematics were very detailed on determining what electronic sensors could be at fault. The parts ordered were direct fit & match which made a easy repair. 

Replaced the moisture sensor bars. 

I ordered the three most common failures related to prolonged drying times-Moisture Sensor, Heater Assembly and Thermistor Assembly. The instructional videos were awesome. My model differed slightly, but it was close enough for me to repair my dryer. The videos offered great viewing and verbal instructions. The view angles helped tremendously. It took me approximately two hours to replace all three parts, but I spent at least 30-45 minutes thoroughly cleaning the inside of the dryer. Also, there were a few tasks (holding the drum in place while threading the belt, holding the drum while install front cover) which I required a second person.
