How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7015078 / 6501KW2002B Sensor Assembly

I was out of town, and my wife called to say the washing machne wouldn't work. it had an LE error code. I told her to call our electric company (we pay extra each month to warranty our household appliances) A technician came out and did nothing - said it couldn't be fixed, and we needed a new washing machine. I looked up the error code online and found tons on complaints & fixes. I looked at your Youtube video and bought the Rotor Position Sensor Switch, ($ 17.00 - what did I have to lose.....) I am not a mechanical person by any stretch of the imagination, but I pulled out the washing machine, took off the back, and replaced the switch in and put it all back together in 25 minutes - and the washing machine is working perfectly - Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 

Easy fix with $20 new rotor position sensor switch. I also cleaned off rust where I could. Works like new machine! 10 yrs. old. 

Ordered new clutch, rotor and drum sensor assembly. If your clutch bearings go, make sure you check rotor, stator and sensor for damage. 

After installing the Hall position sensor the drum still did not turn. I turned on the washer, selected high speed spin and with the back open I carefully moved the drum (from the back) several inches until the hall switch sensor made an electrical "click" and the drum then began to function properly. The washer now works properly. 

I have been clearing the "LE" error code by unplugging and plugging in the washing machine. That worked for years - until it didn't. I was getting the LE error code and it wasn't going away. In addition, the drum was jerking and stopping, like the bearings were bad. After 7 years, I thought I was going to be buying a new washer. I decided to give Google a try. Maybe there would be something I could try before buying a new machine. I found applliancepartspros.com. They recommended replacing the rotor position sensor switch. Not only did I order the part from them, they provided a video with the steps to replace it. I got the part in 2 days and fixed the machine in 30 minutes. I can't believe how ridiculously easy it was. Thank you! 

Researched the LE error code on Google and found the appliancepartspros.com video and comments. Comments indicated that the Rotor Position Sensor Switch was often the problem with washers like mine. The video clearly showed all the steps and that this was a simple swap out of the RPS Switch. Followed the instructions starting with unplugging the unit and turning the water off. Removed back cover. Removed wire cable clamps and the electric connections to the motor. Removing the drum shaft bolt was difficult without a helper to hold the drum still but a broom handle helped to make it a one man job. Once the part was removed, the replacement was ordered online and arrived 40 hours later. Reassemble was just the reverse procedure. Unit started operating when restarted. Note: Be sure to turn the water back on or there will be an IE error. There was some speculation in my house that this was the Idiot Code but LG confirms that it is an Inlet Error since no water came in the machine. I followed the instructions that were on the video supplied by appliance pros and replaced the rotor position sensor switch. The change was easy and the part was delivered as promised. I have shared the positive experience I've had with friends and they also will consult your site when they find it necessary. This is not the first time I've had this experience. Thanks!!! 

Ordered thermistor from APP, received quickly. Followed APP's repair video. Quick and successful repair. No err codes and washer works perfectly. However, after doing repair per video, I now see how repair could easily be done from rear panel of washer without need to remove top, control panel, front panel and gasket. Just remove back panel and reach thru. Zip tie easily snipped. Connector fully exposed. Just need to pull thermistor from plug and replace by feel. Would be much easier and quicker with less hassle. Hopefully no next time to try this out. 

Thanks to youtube for the instructions, had to take my washer apart and pull the tub out and replace the inner and outer bearings. Then put the new seal between the outer tub two parts. I put every back together and thanks to the powers to be, it works great and is quite.
