How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4441530 / 6600JB3001C Dispenser Switch

Initially, I called an appliance repair company for convenience. They were going to charge $565, until I disputed the fee, they reduced the cost to $455. I decided to take a chance and order the part from Appliance Part Pros. After watching a couple of YouTube videos and the help of APP we were successful. The auger motor and auger switch both needed replacing. Great service and responsive to my questions. I even paid for the part through their chat feature. 

A YouTube video answered the most complex part: how to easily get to the switch without tearing the refrigerator door apart. But the switch contacts were corroded to the attaching clip connectors, necessitating careful carving. 

I followed the youtube video produced by your company. Ordered the part and replaced it in 30 minutes. I figure I saved about $300! 

Watched a few youtube videos on to replace micro switches and how to remove the access panel. Finding the videos and watching all of them took longer than the repair itself. It was well worth the time to watch them though. One screw was all that holding it in, The electrical plug to switch was corroded and had to pry it off. The corrosion may have been the true fault. I cleaned with a little sandpaper and it worked 

Broke the tabs off the chute trying to get it off. Had to replace switch and chute. Took about 5 minutes. 

Refrigerator was easy. Simply replaced the activator switch that was sticking. The range hood was a little more difficult. I had replaced the switch years ago but it still didn’t work. So I took on the challenge of replacing the transformer. That was difficult to get to but once replaced and reassembled the lights work fine.
