I purchased a new micro switch from Appliance Parts Pros, part LFX25991ST. The process of fixing it is pretty simple. You remove the whole section where the water and ice dispenser are located on the front of the fridge. There is a video that Appliance Parts Pros provided to show how to do it. They recommend using a paint scraper to pry the section out. I actually have car trim removal tools, little plastic pry’s that you can get on Amazon for $10.00. They worked much better than the paint scraper and I broke no clips. Start prying from the bottom and go in a counter clockwise direction. Once you get the panel off you will see the two micro switches on the back of the panel. The ice dispenser one is the lower one. It is held on by one screw. My screw was rusted and a Philips head screwdriver wouldn’t work. I used my Dremel cutting blade to score the top of the screw and removed it with a flat head screwdriver. You just install the new micro switch and re-install. Fridge now dispenses ice!
