How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4212809 / DC69-00804A Washer Tub Seal

Complete washer strip down. Clean. Replace corroded spider, tub seal and o-ring. Check bearings and internal washer, which were deemed good. 

Completely disassembled the washer to gain access to the inner drum. Removed old disgusting rotted stinky spider arm, cleaned mounting area and installed new spider with new bolts, rear tub seal for spider shaft, outer tub seal and reassembled. Note: The moldy smell these washers are prone to having was due to this part. New part no smell. I did not bleach or do any special cleaning while this machine was apart, only cleaned the area where the spider mounts to the inner tub and the smell is gone. 

I first disassembled the washer using the video instructions to access the problem. The salesperson helped me identify all the parts I needed for the fix. I was able to complete the project without any major glitches. The instructional videos are an excellent resource that provides a step by step approach. 

Purchased parts from Appliance Parts Pro after watching the YouTube video on the problem we had. Followed the video from start to finish and it now works as good as ever. Could not have done it without the help of the video as it was not an easy repair. Overall very happy with everything associated with Appliance Parts Pros. Replaced the spider assembly 

Replaced the Spider and shaft assembly which was broke, both bearings and the seal were also bad. Replaced the one of the balance rings which I broke and replaced the tub seal as a precaution. The videos on YouTube were very helpful taking it apart and putting it back together. Appliance Parts Pro is now my go website when any of my appliances go down. 

Watched video. Orders parts. Parts were at my house the next day. Rewatched video and replaced broken parts. 

Watched a 45 minute video on your website that explained what might be the problem with my machine. I took the machine apart per all of the step by step processes outlines perfectly in the video. Found out the "Spider" was broken and ordered all the parts recommended. I added the shocks to the list because they may have been part of the reason it broke, and if not they took a beating once it was broken. It took about 2.5 hours to put the machine back together once my parts arrived. I am happy to report that the machine works like new again....! Thank you Appliance Parts Pros for the awesome videos and for having all of the parts needed and super fast shipping!!!! 

Found flange shaft assy badly corrioded with soap and liquid fabric softener.Flange was not cracked or broken.Washer only five years old.Also several bolts had red lock-tight on them instead of blue. This was no good.Broke off two.Tuff job for first time. ApplianceParts Pro videos very helpful. They have all the parts you need and super fast shipping. Advice, use a name brand detergent and use only half as much as recommed. Also use dryer sheets instead of liquid softener. PS. Wear gloves, a lot of sharp edges on washer. 

Watched the video describing the problem, check. Watched the video for the repair and decided to tackle this one. Parts were perfect and delivered quicker than promised (2 days vs. 3). Definitely buy the spider bolts, 4 of 6 broke during removal. For the money, the tub seal (for the two halves) is a no brainer. I pulled my washer apart (1hr) and cleaned everything up (2hrs) the day before parts were to arrive, good thing because the parts came that afternoon. Reassembly went smoothly (2hrs) and was back in business. There was a slight groove in the front of the outer tub from the SS drum rubbing, but I elected to take a chance since with the repair there would no longer be contact. Surprised at how well the spin cycle works now, must have been rubbing for a long time...
