For Samsung Washer Tub Seal (Part Number: OEM12638436)

Steve for Model Number Samsung wf328aar/000

I have a water leak on my Samsung wf328aar washer. The water collects under the tub. I replaced the outer tub seal and still have the leak. The new tub seal went in as expected, so I'm thinking the leak must be from another source. I checked the fittings on the dispenser drawer and all seemed dry. The drain pump and attached hoses are dry as well. I removed the top cover and checked the top of the outer tub during a cycle. All dry on top of outer tub also, but water is somehow getting on the bottom side of the outer tub. Could it somehow be the door boot seal has a leak and the water is being deflected back onto the lower side of the outer tub? I am at a loss here. Thank you.

1 Answer

Steve, This could be from several sources and you will need to look under the machine to determine which component is actually leaking.

Tom, Check the bottom of the door glass for debris, lint, pet hair etc can build up enough to barely push the door seal down and a small leak occurs usually right in the middle on the floor after a load.

Dale, the part number is correct. The seal should fit snugly into the grooves and the front portion of the tub should need to be pressed in firmly to secure the tub clips.

Ryan, This tub seal should work for your unit but we are unable to verify due to not having a parts list on this model that is a Canandian model.

Carlos for Model Number WF448AAP/XAA

The old tub seal I replaced was more flat and looked like square shaped (cross section wise) vs. the new one I received that is round. Seal was put in correctly and sat nicely in the groove all the way around, but when tightening the bolts the tub does not compress the seal completely for a tight seal and it is leaking water. You can see how in between bolts the two parts of the tub are touching together completely. Do you have any suggestions or advice on what I should do? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

1 Answer

Carlos, You will want to double check the seating of the seal as it should still seal even though it is rounded. It sounds like it may be pinched or not seated fully causing this issue.

Ron, Yes, the DC69-00804A tub seal will work on your washer. The manufacturer has redesigned the seal from a "triangular" shaped seal to a "round" shaped seal .

Hello Hunter. In some cases the seal has to be fit into the grove very loose. Try reinstalling it loose into the grove.

Oneill for Model Number WF350ANR/XAA

I've installed the new gasket DC69-00804A but when I tighten down all the bolts connecting the two outer halves of the tub it won't allow the inner tub to spin freely. I have to not tighten the bolts all the way down but I'm worried if I do that the tub will leak when I put it back together and start to run a cycle. Is there something I've done wrong or can you make any recommendations or suggestions. The bolt are maybe a 1/2 turn away from the bolt being all the way tightened.

1 Answer

Hello Oneill. You will need to check and see if the bearings are bad and causing the inner basket to be loose and rub the tub. It should not rub with the screws tightened all the way down.
