How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4140984 / DA32-00011C Refrigerator Temperature Sensor

Replaced fan motor, temperature sensor and defrost thermostat. Note: I had to replace connector on new defrost thermostat. Connector on new part did not fit mating connector in refrigerator.. spliced in old connector for new one. 

I replaced the temperature sensor which was really easy to get to. This $8 part and an hour of labor later and my wife stopped complaining about frozen milk. 

Let the refrigerator defrost over night, plus used a hair dryer to speed up the process. Removed back panel on inside (twin cooling on it ) along with Styrofoam insulation, careful here must unplug wires .Replace temp sensor between panel and insulation. Next replace sensor at the back of the fridge located on evaporator coil tube, next was to replace drain tube defroster ( must remove factory one by drilling out rivet) careful not to damage evap coil replace with new one which looks a little different. It is wider and longer to retain more heat to keep drain tube from freezing up. 

Replaced both sensors, not sure which one was bad, so I ordered both. 

Disassembled the fan housing/rear cover. Replaced fan, defrost thermostat and temp sensor. Used hair dryer to defrost big block of ice. Put it back together abs good to go. 

Replaced the defrost thermostat and temperature sensor. Currently removing the ice build-up, had to take off the back panel. 

Watched the how to videos (very helpful!!!) and replaced the two temperature sensors: DA32-10104N and DA32-00011C. Now runs like a charm!!! Don't know which one was causing the problem so replaced both! Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com. Your customer support team is very helpful and your return policy is excellent! Evaporator Cover and Damper Motor Cover assemblies are plug-and-play. Defrost the fridge, remove all shelves, unscrew old units and replace. Quite simple. Working perfectly now. TBD if it is a permanent fix. A temp sensor is not needed if replacing the fridge Evaporator Cover assembly (a new one comes with it). 

Repairman said it sounded like a fan problem and recommended a fan kit. But he said parts were on backorder for 2 months because of coming from China. I found the 3 parts I needed, fan, sensor and thermostat at your online store and decided to tackle this project myself. I paid an extra couple dollars for 2 day shipping and 1 part came in the very next day and the other 2 came 1 day later. Very good videos and explanation of this repair on your site and it took me a total of 10 minutes to repair. One part I had to splice the old harness on it but still was very easy fix and probably saved myself $200 or more in repair bill from serviceman plus weeks or months of waiting! 

Originally I thought the problem was airflow since the refrigerator was packed with Thanksgiving leftovers. After defrosting the evaporator and air passages the problem came back (found some great how-to videos on Youtube). So, I went to my local parts house Saturday morning to buy a new temp sensor and the ice tray that had cracked over the years. They did not have either in stock. the temp sensor would arrive Tuesday but the ice tray would take 2-6 weeks. After I got home I logged onto https://www.appliancepartspros.com/ to find the parts significantly cheaper and they would both arrive at my house on Tuesday. Tuesday came and I had both parts installed before the local parts house called me to say the temp sensor was in and I could come to pick it up. It is now Friday and I am happy to say the refrigerator is working perfect and the local parts house can put their part in stock.
