How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4136048 / DA47-00095E Refrigerator Defrost Thermal Fuse Assembly

Replaced thermal fuse, which was blown. No other problems were found. No data was available on the freezer drain defroster element, which was about 250 ohms. The freezer defroster element was about 55 ohms. All sensors were ok. Adjusted the doors so they would close and stay closed better. There was also a crack in the freezer box plastic behind the evaporator, which I taped with HVAC aluminum foil tape, rated for extreme outdoor use. Refrigerator is now working like new. After the repair, it is best to let the refrigerator do its thing, at least for overnight, and then check the refrigerator and freezer compartments with thermometers. 

When plugged in the compressor would run and the temps on the front would drop to where they were set. But once there the compressor would stop running. The temp inside the unit would increase but the display still stayed at 0 and 38. If I unplugged and replugged the unit the temps displayed would read what actual temp was and the compressor would kick on and start the cycle all over. I was sure it was the control board so I replaced that. Nope, it wasn't the control board. By this time I had done more studying into the problem and with the help of Appliance Parts Pros narrowed it down to temp sensors and defrost thermal fuse. I found out I could perform measurements from the control board. I found the thermal fuse in the freezer section open. I replaced defrost thermal fuse and the temp sensor and I now have a working refrigerator. 

After finding some info on the web, we were able to run some tests and thought we had the right parts in mind to fix the problem. Next, we got with the good folks at Appliance Parts Pros to confirm our diagnosis, which they did confirm that we were on the right track. So, we ordered a Defrost Thermal Fuse and a Temp Sensor. The order arrived within 2-3 days and we were able to make the repairs. After we got the refrigerator running we were still having problems with the CoolZone drawer beeping and cycling through the different settings for it. So, we did another Error Code check and found that the Sensor in the CoolZone drawer was bad. Since we never in the 14 years of owning the fridge use the CoolZone drawer we simply disconnected it. The Refrigerator is running fantastic, and we are hoping our repairs will allow us a couple of more years usage before needing to replace it. 

I replaced the start relay, compressor overload, thermal fuse and temperature sensor. Most likely culprits from the other customers were the relay and overload. Total time to repair was under an hour because I followed the instructional videos (very helpful). Plugged it in and the fridge was back in action. It has been a week without issues and my girlfriend is grumpy because we are not getting her dream fridge now but I am happier not having to buy a new fridge for $2K. 

New Mainboard an Thermal fuse, Also the display panel stopped working, Checked all lines for continuity an they were good.. Searched the net an found out how to reset the display. Hold the super freeze an super cool down at the same time. Fixed my problem , Works as it should now. 

Replaced thermal fuse and temperature sensor 

Used a longer metal tab that fits into the drain tube, this piece clips onto the heating element I got from AppliancePartsPros.com. I also changed sensors the fan motor, and the thermal fuse while taken apart. 

Based on the demo video that I watched from website, it’s pretty much simple to get it done with a rookie skill, but I can get it done like a pro.
