How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011627 / WP8053344 Oven Temperature Sensor

Pull stove away from wall Remove part of back cover, top left side, to expose where it's plugged in. Plugs matched. Didn't have to cut it off and wire nut them back together. Unplugged sensor. Discovered the 2 screws that hold the sensor are on the INSIDE of the oven. Remove oven racks. Spray screws with WD-40. Remove sensor. BUT first: tie a string to the plug of the old sensor, slowly remove leaving some of the string hanging out the back of the stove. Remove string from old sensor and attach to new sensor plug wire. Use string to pull wire through back of oven. Screw in sensor, plug in, replace cover in back, you're done. 

After watching the repair video at ApplaincePartsPro I decided to replace the oven's temperature sensor. The repair was very easy and took less than 15 minutes. After replacing the temperature sensor the oven now works as it should. 

Purchased bake and broil elements as well as temp sensor. Oven is 18 years old...wasn't sure which was not functioning properly. Carefully Removed all three components, and then installed new. Oven heats perfectly. Saved buying new wall oven. Installation was very easy. I am a homemaker and mom. We can do all kinds of fix its. These folks are outstanding! !!! Items arrived very fast and packaged well. 

I ordered a oven temperature sensor to correct the problem. The part came in two days. The same part was $80 at Sears, where I only paid $28 online. I watched a you tube video on how to replace it. I took the back of the stove off and the replacement was just as easy as the video said. I am not a real handy man, but it was not hard at all. 

Repairs installed. Full test today. Install was easy. 

Looked up error code told me that bake temp went over the limit and to replace temp sensor. Ordered part on Sunday was delivered Tuesday replaced part about 10 min job. Oven working great Thanks for the help fast shipping and instructions on how to replace and test. 

I tested the temperature sensor with my multimeter and found it reading 2000 ohms instead of 1000. I ordered the part, installed it and saved lots of money. I was considering buying a new oven but thought I would give it a shot and with all the information available it was easy. 

After looking at the unit for the model number, my husband determined it was probably not the baking element but probably the temperature sensor. We tried to locate the part at Sears and it was posing a problem to find the correct department. I found your website, plugged in the model number and perused the oven parts for the correct components. We ordered both a sensor and the bake element as the range is probably +20 yrs old. We found the repair YouTube for both to be very useful.. With assistance of a friend, my husband made the repair in an hour and saved both time and money doing both replacements ourselves. The sensor needed a trim of part of the plastic end plug as it wouldn't fit through the hole in back of oven. Other than that all went well. The component arrive much sooner than expected, We will use this sight again. 

Replaced oven sensor which I ordered at 4pm and received at 10am next day. A speedy delivery! 

Purchased oven temperature sensor and removed two sheet metal screws from the interior of the oven. The entire repair took less than 15 minutes.
