David C Bessemer City , NC January 27, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LSQ9244EQ0 Leaking water from the tub seal THIE REPAIR WAS ON A WHIRLPOOL TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE At first I suspected the leak was from the pump because I had replaced the pump 2 times over 10 years. This time with the cabinet removed and filling the tub with water, I saw water running down one of the steel support arms that go under the tub, so I was guessing that it was coming from the tub seal. I had to use a jumper wire to bypass the Lid Switch so the water would drain. Several months before I had this issue with the water leaking from my washing machine I had black spots getting on my clothes that were coming from the washing machine.. In hind site, I think these black spots were coming from the Tub Seal that was breaking down and coming apart. I watched a video on Appliance Parts Pro about how to replace the Tub Seal . After removing the spanner nut that holds the Outer Tub in place I could not lift the Outer Tub out because it was stuck due to build up of gunk.I was about to give up till I saw a video on how to remove a stuck tub. This video saved me 400 dollars or more for a new washer. Here is a link to this video, but first watch the video on AppliancePartsPros on how to remove the tub. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6iyR8KcqMQi Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
Linda F Booneville , AR February 16, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer LLR6144BQ1 It leaked a lot of water on the floor and it wasn't a plugged drain I used the schematics, parts lists, Q & A section, and how to videos and also chat to diagnose the problem. But the problem was intermittent. So I had to replace the two probable parts responsible. Also in the process of moving the machine a tub support pad had broken and fallen out. As a note: it really isn't necessary to remove the tubs to replace the tub support pads. I couldn't get the tubs out. So I tried to do it without removing them and was successful. As a result I purchased a spanner wrench that I really didn't need. Other than that everything went smoothly. Laurel C Mountain View , CA January 08, 2023 Appliance: Model KENMORE Hot water not coming in to washer. Cold was fine I could hear a buzzing sound from the back of the washer. Both hot and cold faucets (taps from our water supply) to the washing machine were turned on, so *that* wasn't the problem. ... I swapped the supply hoses at the back of the machine, cold for hot; whereupon the *hot* water resumed, but then the *cold* water stopped working. So I decided it must be some valve just inside the machine that should control the in-flow of hot water. Not positive of my diagnosis, because I am a complete idiot regarding appliances, but AppliancePartsPros.com had a $30 part called "water inlet valve" for our washer model. So cheap! ... I went ahead and ordered it. But when it got here (super quickly, too!), I discovered I had *no idea* how to even open up the machine to install it! Luckily AppliancePartsPros.com had a handy video about that. I followed their instructions, easily found the location of a part looking just like what had arrived in the mail, swapped the new part out, and then the washing machine worked great. That was in Oct, 2021. It's Jan, 2023 now, and the washer is still going strong. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
